Sounds as though another one of Daley's cronies has been caught with his hand in the cookie jar, anyone remember how hard peotone airport was pushed? I wonder how much money was funneled to Daley over that venture, anyone know the answer to that? Forward the information to the states attorney, I'm sure they want to know also. It might help get rid of this didease we call mayor in Chicago.

Not one to defend Da Mayor, but how on Earth do you connect dots between Daley and the director of the Peotone Park District? Again, that's the director of the Peotone Park District. I mean, think for just a minute how completely ridiculous your post sounds.

Boy, this guys a winner... back child support, no ethics. I'm sorry for his kid. He should be hung and quartered. I'm really sick of these unscrupulous people in office.

I served as Director of the Peotone Park District for a short time. I only lasted a few weeks when I realized how horribly is was being run and supervised by the board members. They wanted me to sign on the checking account and I was out of there! They have a lot of clean up to do in that park district before it should be allowed to reopen. For instance, the proceeds from the concession stands were being taken home by members and never turned in. Things like that were popping up over and over. So to make a long story short...All the board members need to be replaced and the state should monitor them very closely!

Mayor Daley has never lended his support for an airport in Peotone. The politician pushing for the Peotone airport is Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr.

Why would Daley support this project after having Midway revamped and upgraded?

Your post isn't well thought out. In fact, it's ridiculous.

This has nothing to do with Mayor Daley. This is a small town, small people & small views. The board members cover for one another and sit around and drink beers together. This is NOT regulated. Don't get me wrong Peotone is a really great little community. After I walked off the job the board members came to my house (I won't say anymore). Let's just say I moved!

You should keep your comments to yourself, you didn't even last two weeks, didn't want to run programs, didn't want to do this, didn't want to do that...and left the people signed up for your personal class hanging when you left with no notice. You have no clue, and your comment about money not turned in is way off base. Your departure was no lose!

My My someone does feel guilty. You are and all of your good ol boys should be ashamed of yourselves and yes you dipped into the pot too. Not to mention all the bounced checks written during this time period. It has nothing to do with lasting 2 weeks. I didn't want to be a part of all the misconduct. Hopefully you will be monitored by the state from here on in. Good Luck!

I passed on Former Employeee's comments to a SA (State Attorney) friend of mine and she said she thought the comments waranted passing them on to some one with interest in the case. I believe what Former Employee said is true, but now we will know for sure....

I am interested in the Peotone Park District Director's position, but am concerned as to what I am walking into. My father is from Peotone, but having lived elsewhere for the last 45 years, I'm not sure what the political arena is like. Are the Board members ready to make the changes necessary to get Peotone Park District running legally again? Are the Board members being compensated?
I don't mind working hard, but I won't be party to anything illegal or underhanded. Can anyone give me some insight?

Former employee: If you had items that were factual, you should contact the States Attorney.
As a past Peotone Park District Commisioner, past Board President, and someone still active with programs I feel you should print your name and not hide. Spreading FALSE INFORMATION is also a legal matter you will be contacted BY THE AUTHORITIES!!!!!! YOU SHOULD PUT UP OR SHUT UP.

Dear "I Love Peotone"
I think you are on the right path. Much has been brought into the open. Some believe they are true some believe they are not. Just remember from here on in everything will be run the correct way not matter how they were run in the past because everyone will be watching, including the states attorney. The town and people of Peotone need a great park district and if you have a chance to make a difference--go for it! Parks and Recreation is just that. For the people to enjoy and the enrich the lives of others. I hope you do submit your resume and make a difference in the community.

I didn't get a call to even interview for the job. I hope they found someone local with parks experience!
I hope that the district will expand and maybe I can try again! Maybe Asst. Director!

Just a few things:

Peotone is NOT connected the Daley machine. Peotone is a very staunchly right wing Republican community. You'll often see confederate flags in windows. However, this is changing as Democrats from Cook County move in.

The airport is a bad idea. It'll turn the area into a urban community which would be bad. Almost everyone I know is against this airport. Jesse Jackson is not well liked in Peotone (look at point one for further info)

The park district person who stole the money is related (brother? Not sure) to Peotone's mayor Tom Cross. This could be interesting.

Sidenote: Peotone has a swingers clubs. It's an open secret that many of the local politicians are members. I'm curious if this plays a part.
