<quoted text>News Flash, Dude...ONLY Topix can start a State-wide Thread, Posters can't do it! If you don't post on them and keep them going, Topix can and has taken them down and there may or may not be another One put up, it's solely up to Topix.

Just FYI, there's currently only 4...the "Immunization" thread, the "Firefighters" thread, the "Governor's" thread, and the "Hunters" thread...that's it, and that's all there's been in a long time.

And you actually think that's something to be proud of knowing how to do! You poor misguided thing! You, and People like you, are to be pitied more than anything else.
I'm sorry that your Parents didn't do their job and raise you the right way. You'll have to learn on your own and it's going to be a hard lesson, I can guarantee you that.

Kinda makes you think that somebody wants to keep the Posts in a confined area, doesn't it? Now, I wonder why that would be, since this Thread is mostly about Politics.
If they can keep One uninformed and ignorant of what they're doing or trying to do, it makes it a whole lot easier for them to keep doing it.
That's the TEApublican way and always has been...it's just worse now than it's ever been and it will keep getting worse if nobody refutes it.
Somebody put something up on their FB page that says it all...it said that the thing the TEApublicans hate the worst, is that the Democrats are finally beginning to speak out, in opposition to what the Teapublicans are doing.
Good Morning Linda, in my County they seem to be mostly all uninformed, watch Fox News, listen to Rush or someone like him. Seems like the leadership in non-profit organizations are clueless, and their followers are just that.....followers and clueless.
Now the leadership in small businesses that have skin in the game, many of those that I have talked to are Republicans, Good Christians, have voted the Republican ticket their whole life but this last election they voted for Obama.

<quoted text>Yes, we have had a ton of rain. It's moving out now. I believe you had flooding in your county? It rained out the Brave's game yesterday.
Yeah, we still have a flood warning, but we always get them when it rains a lot.
But it's controlled, and the people here are very resilient to whatever kind of weather comes our way.
Sorry about your Braves getting washed out. Ya know, I would love to see a baseball game played in the rain, now that is something I would watch. Some of the best football games were played in the rain. I'm not talking about thunderstorms, I'm talking about showers like yesterday......both sides have to adjust to the condition, get muddy, slip and slide ect.

Your right Vet, I guess it's all a part of evolution, and I also got caught up in it, but it would be nice to just express our views.
Like O.T. and Pete are doing right now, they are not calling each other names, but are discussing bussiness in a civil manner.
We should always remember we are all Americans.

Since when are U.S. corporations responsible for making sure everyone has healthcare? I don't think you will see that mandate on any corporations charter, nor should it be on any corporations charter. Yes, a lot of corporations provide healthcare or healthcare assistance to employees, but that is to attract good employees. It is not their responsibility to provide it. For that matter, why don't they provide everyone with a car? Everyone needs transportation don't they. How about a house? How about food? Why stop at healthcare?
Honestly "Pete", I wanted a Medicare for all system instead of the one we got in the Obamacare law, but this was the model created by the Heritage Foundation (not exactly a left wing organization !((sarcasm for those who can't recognize it)) to counter Hillarycare.) Republicans in congress were all for this model, until they weren't. Mitt said it was right for Ma. when he instituted it there and wrong for the country when Obama proposed it. Both large and small companies have been cutting back on providing health insurance for their employees for years. Some of that has been a cost issue, since healthcare costs are rising well above inflation. Some of that happens simply because they can, to increase the bottom line. With the job shortage in the USA, people are taking jobs they would never have considered 15 years ago, and many of those jobs don't have any health coverage, or the employee costs are prohibitive. Medicare does a pretty good job of controlling costs, for a lot of reasons I will not get into here, but one basic reason is Medicare has no profit motive. Our elected representatives kept the for profit insurers in the mix instead.
You say there will be changes to the healthcare law, and I THINK you are right, but I predict that the USA will eventually move to universal, government provided health insurance.

Good morning "Vet"!
That's what happens when some folks want to shut down discussion simply because they disagree. Personally, I want to read your take on issues. We probably will disagree (surprised right ?) but I want to understand why. Some people don't. It's their way or no way.
I miss some of the posters who once visited here, including a lot on your "side" ! Dee, and "Plastic worm" especially. I think a lot of us would be good friends if we got to know each other in "real" life.
"Pete" has joined the discussion, and I'm happy he is here with us. He can place on the table another side of the equasion, but he can and does debate without insulting those who disagree. I find that refreshing.
Stay dry and have a good weekend my friend !

Boo. Be afraid. Be very afraid. That is just what Halliburton and other nobid contractors want. Fear is their bread and butter. Wake up and smell the cappuccino.
You certainly have a big up your ass about nobid Halliburton. You do realize that the reason they get away with being nobid is that no other company in the world does what they do. So no one can bid against them.

Rather than just belly achin' why not start a corporation to compete with them?
