The West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force in Gibson County has been busy working methamphetamine manufacturing investigations in Gibson County, according to a news release today. About 10:30 p.m. Monday, three drug task force agents, with deputies from Gibson and Dyer counties and two officers of the Department of Corrections fugitive apprehension unit executed a search warrant at 155 Stafford Road in Newbern, the home of Scottie Ables, 25. Ables was on state and federal probation, according to the news release. He faces new charges of possession with intent to sell a Schedule II controlled substance. On Wednesday, task force agents conducted an investigation at 116 Wingo St. in Bradford. Agents and the state methamphetamine and pharmaceutical task force response truck were on the scene and filed charges on Jesse Gapen and Nicole Gapen, both 30. They are charged with promotion of methamphetamine manufacturing, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of meth with intent to sell, initiation of a process to manufacture meth, conspiracy to manufacture meth, child neglect and endangerment, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony. The meth lab found in Bradford was the 351st lab found this year in Tennessee, the release said.

Not defending them, protecting the kids from this kind of stuff...obviously...if you actually read my post rather than assumed what YOU thought I might be stating you would realize that. Regardless of what they did, those kids LOVE their parents, and will have to grow up hearing this, and it WILL effect them. Especially in this particular community where redemption & forgiveness is quite rare.

Trying to protect kids from media ? Kids them selfs, not parents should have been protected from a very bad substance that destroys life's and kills. Not always, but some times new parents are better , versus a house of whats for dinner " Not now were cooking meth" format applies. And if I believe the meth cookers didn't know the harmful effects, but knew the meth cooking and distribution network prior to raising their children in a drug free environment , I stand corrected. End result! Want to cook and sell this destructive drug? Try this: 1) Get caught 2) Now arrested 3)Loss of home, kids, family, freedom 4)Felony record, plus years of incarceration 5)You got what you were knew might happen Boo Hoo Hoo, it ain't working for me !!!

Another meth cooker gets introduced to the legal system. Block party should be held on wingo street. One more reason why it is a good day in Bradford, need to get the entire drug trade removed and relocated to a federal jail. Report em all till there is none to report.

Again the drug dealers should have though about them before they made drugs. 10 years of hard time picking up garbage with a sign on beside the roads should do the trick! Maybe the kids could ride by and learn to read the signs?

There was nothing wrong with the post in which you used that quote to respond. Now as far as the kids, they knew. And if they didn't, they sure got the message when mom and dad were busted. It made the news, so whether or not it's posted on Topix is a moot point.

I will be glad when they get them all, they really need to focus more on the ones that are bringing this shit into our town, as well as the ones that are selling meth. Meth has destroyed a lot of lives and the dealers, they don't care if your children have food, birthdays, or Christmas. As long as the money is going into their pocket, that's all that matters. They don't even care if their children do drugs. Hell, most of them introduce it to their children.

Think some empathy and sympathy should be extended to these meth cookers. Here is the legislation I would enact as a penalty for producing this man made vile drug. Upon discovery and arrest of subjects: 1) Leave the accused locked and barricaded in the dwelling that was used to cook the sh_t. 2)Do not clean up the environment in any way, shape, or form. 3) Turn off all utilities to premises. 4) As for water squirt a fire hose through a welded metal cover that can be remotely opened from exterior. 5) Food should be gathered from landfill. Example what ever is lying around rotted or decomposed doesn't matter serve that with complimentary salt and pepper approx. every 72 hours. 6)Incarceration at meth cooking location should be one half of jail sentence, such as if court said 10 years , you have to reside in above conditions only 5 years. If the above sentence was imposed I can almost gaurntee meth cooking would cease to exist. Final thought why should excused be housed in a county jail, state or federal with living conditions way above the conditions out lined above ? Want to get serious about this growing epidemic of a drug ? Then consider getting serious about the enforcement, prosecution, punish ment bestowed to the criminal.
