Did anybody watch the CMA awards on TV last night? Are my ears out of tune or does Taylor Swift sing off key. Every song she performed, she was off key quite a bit. Yeah, she performed well with her actions, but if that is what she sounds like on her albums, I will never buy one. She is no where in the league with the Country Music Stars and did not deserve some of the awards she got...most especially Entertainer of the Year.

I totally agree. She does not sound good without all the gidgets and gadgets they use to make her sound good on a cd. She does not do well performing.

On another note....I thought it was hilarious how they clowned on Kanye West...he is a douche and I hope he saw it...or does see it at some point.

I agree. I saw it on TV also. Where did they find Taylor Swift? I also picked up on the off key. Her movements were good, but she could not stay on key. I certainly dont think she should have won entertainer of the year, by all means...somebody fixed something on that. She's a cute girl, but not that good a singer.

I thought Carrie and ?(my mind went blank)did very well as emcees. Carrie had on 9 different dresses...since it was advertised, I counted them.

I can't believe everyone is shocked she won all the awards. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that she has been the hottest thing going for a while. I would have been shocked if she didn't win.

I agree....she has sold a ton of albums and did a great job hosting SNL. She also has been touring like crazy! I mean, come on, she even made it to Jonesboro. Sold
out venues, top of the charts each week=great entertainer.

I have heard of her, but I dont keep up on modern music...like the oldies stations. I guess she was just nervous at the CMA's because she definitely sang off key several times.

I like Taylor Swift. I didn't think her first song sounded as great as she normally does, but the second one she did was really good. All performers go off key on occasion, but to me that just makes them more human so I don't hold it against them.

Like I said, she may have just been nervous being at the CMA, but since I dont listen to her music, I wasnt impressed with her. Just my opinion of her performance that night.

I thought the award for entertainer of the year went to the one who sold the most tickets and drew the most fans. everyone knows that taylor swift was not the biggest draw. she is good but she has a way to go to be as good as the other four that did not win. the one who made the most and had the most ticket sales was Kenny Chesney. #1 fans of KC

If you think Kenny Chesney has been more popular than Taylor Swift in the past year than you are living in a dreamworld. Crawl out from under your rock and take a look around.

Neither. I'm someone who can see past who MY favorite performer is and what is actually going on in the world. She has been the hottest thing going for a while now, people should have been shocked if she didn't win. Face it, like it or not, she has crossed over to be more than JUST a country star. I don't see Chesney or any of those others hosting SNL or winning a VMA(1st country artist ever to do so).

Thats really not a nice thing to say about anyone. She seems like a really sweet person, whether you like her music or not thats a really crude thing to say about a young lady. Face it Undertaker,Taylor Swift is good but can she sell out NFL football stadiums like Kenny Chesney has been doing since 04,why no and she never will unless she goes on tour with Kenny Chesney!

Also, in case you wondered this is how they awards are decided. They are chosen by their peers, which makes it the most desired award in the business.

Any mention of the CMA Awards elicits the question, "How are the winners chosen?" The answer to that query does much to explain why the CMA Awards are so highly regarded and coveted by the recipients.

CMA award winners are chosen in voting by industry professional members of the Country Music Association. Thus, award winners are honored by their peers in the music industry. The staff of CMA does not participate in the voting process.

The awards criteria, rules of election and balloting procedures are established by CMA's Board of Directors. Singles, albums, music videos, and qualifying products for the musical event must have been first released during the eligibility period. The election is conducted in three rounds as follows:

1.Each CMA member may nominate one act in each category on the first ballot. The top 20 qualified vote recipients that receive at least 10 votes in each category will become an official nominee and will then be submitted to the entire CMA membership on the second ballot.
2.On the second, ballot CMA members must vote for up to five nominees in each category. The results are tabulated, and the five receiving the most votes in each category are listed as finalists on the third ballot.
3.On the final ballot, members vote for one in each category to determine the winners.

we have nothing against Taylor Swift, we even like her music. but she still is not the performer that the other four are. you can use all the billboards you want but that award should and in the past went to the one that drew the most fan on the road. that is why they called it entertainer of the year. and yes she is more rock than country, you dont see country stars throwing chairs and laying down on the stage.
