I am getting so damned tired of all you freakin pillheads!! You dont work, you are shitty parents, you dont pay your bills, you are nothing more than a drain on a society. Everytime you see a store or gas station getting robbed, a pill head is at fault. You fake injuries, usually headaches and backaches, stuff that cant be medically disproven, you bother doctors all the time begging for pills, you cant pay your bills, but you can sure as hell drive all the way to Florida to see a pain clinic physician more than willing to write a script for a fee. Your children are on free lunch, yet you always have the cash to buy a script. I just wanted to say that when you feel low, when you are sitting there snorting pills, and you feel like a piece of garbage, you're right, you are a piece of garbage. When you grow old, if you are lucky and dont OD, and you are lieing on your death bed, you are going regret neglecting your kids, being broke all your life, and being a general piece of garbage pill head, just wait and see.

I have lived in Lexington for almost 40 years, and I have never seen a drug problem this bad. Everyone knows someone on prescription medication, and everyone knows where they get them. Its the same doctors, the same clinics, the same people. The police just look the other way. I dont understand why they dont just set up checkpoints on I-75 every so often, you would catch them coming back from the state of Florida everyday I bet.

IN MY OPINION, ITS THE DR'S WRITING THESE PRESCRIPTIONS THAT ARE THE REAL PROBLEM. THEY NEED TO BE PUNISHED TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW! THEY ARE NOTHING MORE THAN STREET CORNER DRUG DEALERS!

You are so right!! My mom, sadly to say, is a pillhead. I blame her doctor for part of her addiction because he KNOWS she is and KNOWS she has been in rehab, though still continues to write her anything she wants. I have contacted him several times, written letters, written to the head of the clinic and still did no good. The doctor even called me one time after I had written one of my letters and had to nerve to go off on ME asking me if I had medical licenses on the wall like he did. Pathetic!!

The clinics and doctors writing these scripts are where it all starts I agree. Why does the DEA ignore this? Where is the justice? Its pathetic, an entire generation of pillheads, and the ones that pay for it is good hard working tax paying working people. Half of them are probably on Medicaid, so pretty much my tax dollars pay for their habit. Gee thanks government, glad to know you are cutting school programs and not fixing roads so some skanks can get their fix. Its just a constant shit cycle, pillheads are shitty parents, their kids usually observe their behavoir, and they grow up to be pillheads and shitty parents, and then they do the same things to their kids. The commit a crime, and when they go before the judge, its always the same story, blah blah blah boo hoo I am addicted i cant stop, put me in rehab not jail, it wasnt me that robbed that gas station, it was the pills, not me, and these dumbass judges slap them on the wrist and set them free. Its pitiful.

The pill problem is out of control, I know a guy who's mother was suffering of cancer, and was presrcibed Oxy's for her pain. As she was slowly on her way to death, he was stealing her pills from her from the whole time, HIS OWN MOTHER. My grandma lives in southeastern ky, and some assholes broke in her house and robbed her while she was at church! AT CHURCH!! They went right for the pills, and she couldnt even get a refill on some of them until her 30 days was up, so she got totally screwed! I wish i could find out who those punks were, I'd be the one in jail when I got done with them.....

And charge them with what? They would have a prescription. Going to Florida to get meds isn't a crime. Not saying it's right but stopping people coming back would do no good. You can't arrest them for having pills if they are prescribed to them.

I'm sure they are up. Instead of looking at topix their looking for pills. I know many with a pill addiction. It's all they think about. Thats all that matters. Even after they find a pill it's where will they get the next? And for alot of users it isn't even about the high as it is about detoxing. Withdraw from pain meds is awful. They get the shits, gagging, throwing up, body aches, irritability, runny nose. You would think getting through detox once would be enough for them to leave the pills alone.

Oh contrar....as an attorney I can tell you there are loopholes in law that allow these pill pipeline drivers to be prosecuted. For instance, you are only allowed to have a certain amount of people the car with you if an out of state prescription is found. Also, if more than the prescribed amount is missing from the bottle, like for instance if you are prescribed one pill a day, and 2 are missing, you can be charged. Lets face it, most pill addicts cant wait to get home to start taking them, also their tolerance is so high, the prescibed amount wont give them the high they long for. I think checkpoints would be a great idea and I think they can be helpful. Florida is in the process if changing the laws pertaining to prescription meds, so if you are abusing the weak Florida laws, time is running out so you better enjoy it while you can.

Everyone here is missing the point. Its the children of these addicts that suffer. In my line of work, I see it so often it just upsets me way more than I should allow it to. These addicts, their kids know what is going on, and they suffer. They know they are often living in poverty because their parents spend all the money on drugs. They know they are made fun of at school for being on reduced of free lunch by other children because their parents spend on their money on pills. They know they are waiting in line at the Salvation Army toy drive every year for presents because their parents would rather buy drugs instead of buying them christmas gifts. They know why mommy sleeps all day, why dad never keeps a job. We all need to pray for addicts, not just for them, for the children that suffer because of the addiction.

Eastern Kentucky's problem dwarfs that of most other areas of the commonwealth. I have family over there and the pill problem is beyond out of control. Politicians just look the other way, why would they want to stop all the pills being sold? The pharmaceutical companies are making huge donations to their campaigns, wheres the motivation to bite the hands that feeds them?

TODD WILLOUGHBY of GEORGETOWN, KY is the BIGGEST PILL HEAD and drug dealer around. He also works as a confidential informant when he gets in trouble selling pills to pay for his trip down to Miami, Florida to doctor shop for pain pills. Then bring the oxycodone back to KY to sell. He's a big loser that needs to be put in prison! But as long as he helps the police every now and then he keeps selling drugs and abusing oxycodone and stays out of jail.

My family are all from florida. I am only here for school. Unfortuneate for Kentucky, Florida doesn't want to change the laws. It took 8 years for them to finally say ok, you can only prescribe 180 pills for one patient in a 28 day period, that is down from the usual 240 they were prescribing, also they can't prescribe an equilvalent medication for break through pain, for instance, you get 180 30mg, but you cant have 90 15mg's of the same medication for break through so they give you like 90 loratabs or percocet 10's. Yea, it took 8 years for that to finally go through. Right now the casper software has been sitting on a desk waiting to be installed for 5 years, yep, we've had the technology for 5 years, just can't get noone to sign off on actually putting it in use. It has took 4 years to require a pharmacy to make a copy of a photo id, not their SS number heavens for bid but their ID, before, you could just go down give a fake florida address and get pills galore. Florida has a drop in tourist money with all the oil spills and just people not traveling so they are using the money from the pipeline to get the money they are so use to getting from the tourists. So don't hold your breath on Florida to come around anytime soon, hell now they're popping up in Georgia, cause they see how prosperous florida is in the pill market, only way to get rid of it is for the manufacturer to stop suppling and you know that aint gonna happen

Pills ruined my relationship and my ex's life. They took away the person I fell in love with and I never got him back. He got kicked out of the military, house foreclosed on, and lost me. I never could have fathomed the enormous impact these deadly drugs can have. Pills were just normal for him bc he's from eastern ky and everyone does it. It needs to change before more lives are ruined!!!! Parents please stress to your kids the dangers of prescription meds, minutes who they hang out with, make them mad bc that means you care. I lost the person I loved... Don't let it happen to you. God bless.
