On Feb. 16 , 2010 at 1200 hours my 48 year old sister had stopped at the above mentioned service station to fill her gas tank while on route to take my 75 year old mother to a doctors appointment in Morris , IL..
While my sister was filling up her gas tank, my mother decided to exit the vehicle and go inside the service station to purchase a soft drink. Upon exiting my sister's vehicle her foot had become entangled in her purse strap which was in the passenger floorboard whereupon she fell out of the vehicle and landed on the asphalt flooring by the gas pumps on her left hip. This was in plain sight of the employees inside of the service station.
My mother was in extreme pain and could not move her leg.I understand her falling was her fault due to the poor placement of her purse in the vehicle and not that of the BP service station. However, what I can not comprehend is the fact that it occurred in plain sight of BP employees that choose to ignore the incident. An elderly lady laying on the asphalt in severe pain and not one of those employees rushed to her aid or inquired if they should call an ambulance for her assistance.
Thank God for the two good Samaritan customers that witnessed the incident and assisted my sister in placing my mother back into my sister's vehicle so that she might transport my mother to the Morris Hospital Emergency facility where she received excellent care.
On 17 Feb. around 1500 hours at the Morris Hospital my mother underwent surgery on her left hip which was fractured and required a surgical pin to be inserted.
Saturday Feb. 20 2010 we were allowed to bring her back home where she will undergo many weeks of physical therapy to try and regain her daily activities of living.

As I stated before, the accident was my mothers fault. However the lack of action, empathy and compassion for one human being for another rests solely on the shoulders of those BP Employees that witnessed it and chose to do NOTHING !

I will think twice before utilizing A BP Service Station again.

Try using the Car Wash facility that is located nextdoor to the BP Amoco in Coal City. If you attempt to use the foaming brush you had better beware. It consistently leaks and sometimes squirts colored soap all over you, the only way this is prevented is when they wrap electrical or duct tape around the handle fittings. Those hoses are so cheap they kink so that the customer doesn't get the amount of soap they should be getting. This isn't a new problem at this location - in fact both of these issues have gone on for years and no one ever seems to care or try to correct it. It sure seems to me that the owner's don't care about anything except how FAT they can get their wallet to be. So it's not just your incident that they lack respect in, they lack respect for an entire community of people.

I'm sure they would if enough people were to read about this incident and deceide not to use their services. Everyone has a mother, What if this had happened to yours ?

At least they aren't Indian! But I do agree with the others on attitudes and bad hoses cause I experience the same. It's not like they can't afford to fix it.

I go to Coal City 2-3 times a week because gas is always cheaper, but I will not go back to this station!! I will go to Shell next door where they treat there customers with respect! The young girls that work there are so rude, have bad attitudes and have no manners at all. The first time they were rude, I thought maybe they were having a bad day, but every time I go there they are worse than the last visit. The last time they were to busy talking on there phone or texting and customers had to wait for them to finish personal business. I think their phones shouldn't be used while working. Try to get some people that are have some manners and morals. They complain about getting minimum wage, but that is all they are worth! I will no longer use my BP card or your gas station!! If this was my business they would all be fired!! Good luck with the piece of shits you have working for you! And to the lady that commented about her mother falling out of her car and no one came to check on her ....Shame on you. Not a good way to run your business! These girls are unbelievable.
