One of the biggest impediments to the Chamber and business community is the lack of qualified leadership targeting the average small business owner. Most of all the activity is centered around large up and running firms. Few if any new business has been developed by the scads of people employed and huddled for their pay under the city's new business development banner. If they were treated as folks in the private sector are, where you have to deliver results or are shown the door, these folks would have been on the street long ago.
