I would come unglued if a kennel allowed my dog to get out. Why did the kennel not notice the dog missing before he reached the interstate. I would find it hard to belive the cock & bull story that the dog escaped from a Kennel and scaled a fence. The Vet Clinc would feel my wrath if that was my dog

I was saddened to hear about Lobo, my husband and I have always had dogs , so I know how close you must have been. We recently lost our dog. She got loose and ran into to traffic. It was the most horrible thing in the world to witness. But we did get another dog right away to help with the healing. Please know that Lobo is in good hands now and I hope that you get another dog, not to replace Lobo, but to honor his memory and for the work he did.
Take care!!

It's very sad what happened but a dog can scale a fence.I watched my Rott and Bull Mastiff mix do it,until we had to put up a privacy fence to stop him from escaping out of our backyard.

It's very sad to hear of Lobo's death. My heart goes out to Deputy Allen, he not only lost his partner but also his beat friend. Lobo was more than likely trying to find his way home to his trainer and best friend when he was hit by the car, after working together 1 1/2 years I'm sure they were very close.

I once had a dog that would climb a fence all the time too. I wonder why a dog with as much training and discipline as a he would do this. Maybe he was being abused and was fleeing. My dog just didn't listen and felt she could come and go whenever she wanted.

How very tragic. I agree, though, that the kennel where he was being held would be made to pay if that were my dog. Absolutely unexcusable for an animal care facility to allow a dog in their care to get loose like that.

Steven, I am sure that you said this just to get reactions out of people. But you are an insensative jerk. These dogs do not harm innocent people, they help keep us safe from rats like you.

To Deptuty Allen, my sincere condolences. To the woman that hit Lobo, my condolences as well. How horrid and tragic. Just know that you tried not to hit him, it's not your fault.

You must be a total jack nutt. Did you even read the story? He wasn't AT LARGE. Hurting people. He was a trained police dog, that got out. No reports of injuries except to the poor dog when he got hit.

I feel for the dog and the handler. The kennel was obivously at fault here,I really feel for the poor girl who hit the dog I hope the kennel will live up to their responsiblity and reimbures the sherrif's dept for the cost of the dog and the lady for the cost of repairs to her car it is very sad indeed

I 'm deeply saddend by the chain of events . My family have been a long time patrons of Boyette animal hospital and have always held the staff there in the highest esteem. I can only imagine the loss that the Allen's have suffered as a family . My heart goes out to them. I find it troubling for so many negative post.I'm close to Dep. Allen and feel that some respect should be shown at this time .This was terrible for all involved .

THIS DOG ONLY WAS DOING ITS JOB, BY GETTING RID OF ALL OF THE DRUG USERS, ROBBERS, AND ANY BODY ELSE THAT WAS DOING THE DEVILS WORK. I GIVE A BIG APPAULS FOR THE SHERIFF AND HIS PARTNER(LOBO). I ALSO WORK FOR THE SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT AND LOBO DIDN'T HURT NOBODY THAT DIDN'T DESERVE IT.
