Report: South Eastern superintendent hired by Berks Co. district

While the South Eastern School District already needed to find principals for several schools, it is now apparently in need of a new leader for the district. Full Story

it's a different job, if you could read you would notice it's an assistant superintendent position. Don't be mad because qualified professionals can get a job and no one will pay you to mow their dead grass.
Ralphie and his followers were the ones that killed the grass.

I think it would be a great idea if all the students both current and those who graduated from SESD that appreciated Dr. Shenk attend the next school board meeting and present the school board with facts about Dr. Shenk being an excellent school superintendent.

I would really like to hear what members of Kennerdale's Band past and present have to say about Dr. Shenk.

Here is an idea-- make August 5th Dr. Shenk's Day in SESD and all the students who liked Dr. Shenk attend the meeting and tell the school board what a kind and great person Dr. Shenk is.

I understand what you are saying "Seriously," and I respect your position. Ralphie can make your life so miserable that you would either be fired or have to resign just like he did with Dr. Shenk.
I think it would be a good idea if people would back off and not pressure the teachers into saying anything. Teaching our children is their #1 priority and I think that is all of our #1 priority-- the children/students.
Phoenix, you obviously have a lot of time on your hands and a serious issue with the board member you so frequently mention. I am not in the least bit afraid of "Ralpie," as you refer to him. I was afraid of Dr. Shank (you might want to check your spelling.)
I doubt you will find many teachers who will speak out, even now, primarily because people won't believe what happened in our working environment.

As a teacher at SESD, I will miss the strong leadership and support from not only my principal, but Dr. Shank. She was an asset to our school district and she will be missed. This school board acts oblivious as to why admiistrators are leaving, but they know it is because of them. They are harrassing people to the point of no return and the district will suffer. I wonder how many teachers are tired of the drama of the past five months and are looking for a more stable place to work.

If Wilson was still Board President he would still give her a bonus!
The Board President does not possess the only vote that decides what school district employees are rewarded with a raise. There are 9 members on the school board and each casts a vote. I suggest you schedule the time needed to read and comprehend the Pennsylvania School Code.

It appears that someone else has more time on their hands than I do.

BTW, it's Ralphie (you might want to check your spelling!)

As for my misspelling of Dr. Shank's name, it was a typo. Pardon me that I'm not as perfect as someone else!

Teachers have already posted to this forum and I have yet to read one post that criticizes Dr. Shank, with the exception of yours!

Someone else's words not mine-- "I doubt you will find many teachers who will speak out, even now, primarily because people won't believe what happened in our working environment."

Interesting that someone's location is shown as Lancaster.

Is it possible that someone might have been one of the administrators that resigned rather than be terminated because someone wasn't doing the job taxpayers were paying them to do?

The "working environment" as someone referred to was caused by Ralphie and his brainwashed followers!

Phoenix,
I'm not sure who you are referring to, unless you are referring to a recent resignation, but I'm pretty sure that individual still owns a house in the district.
That being said, I don't live in Lancaster, YDR just chooses to put me there. I am a teacher. I love teaching. I love children. I do not love being harrassed. I love being able to do my job and help kids. I love the feeling that is a kid thanking you and telling you that you are the best thing in their world. I love my job. And i'm more than certain that I'm going to love my job even more this year.
I'm not sure what the board members in question personally ever did to you, but it must have been horrific for you to attack them in such a way. Perhaps they murdered a pet of yours? Because otherwise I can't understand your hatred.
And typos usually only happen once, as in mine. Not in post after post.

Let it go...administrators were harassed at their homes, by the Board and by some teachers at work, teachers felt harassed by administrators at work, but the fact is that new administrators and teachers will be hired and there are administrators and teachers that will stay at SE. Let's all move on with ours lives and just get ready for a great school year, everywhere...

Is "Phoenix" actually Tracy Shank?

Phoenix is not Dr. Shank, I am a resident of the SESD. Are you Scott Deisley? Who is rumored to be the next Superintendent and best friend of the Board members.
Great Idea

Move on. KD is a very good school. The same teachers are comming back. The students will have another geat year. Just like last year. Having students disrupt the next board meeting will not help solve the problems. How about we have phoenix jump up and down and stomp his feet at the next meeting.

I'd give my right arm to see Dr. Scott Deisley step up as next Superintendent. Who should we call to get the ball rolling on that?

Why the person whose response appears above that's who! So just exactly where does "Seriously" reside?

Seems odd that YDR would place cities beneath the name/alias of a
poster. Seems even odder that YDR would assign Lancaster one day to a poster and then Harrisburg the next, especially since the YDR's territory isn't Harrisburg. Patriot News covers the Harrisburg area.

Is someone implying that they own a house in the district?

I extend my sincere gratitude to the poster above for their comments about their profession and students.

If someone was being harrassed on the job, then why didn't that someone go to their union representative or union president and file a complaint? That is why people engaged in certain professions belong to a union.

Funny a previous president busted up the air traffic controllers union along with several others, yet the one union no one ever busted up was the NEA teachers' union!

I can't figure out why someone would pay such exhorbitant dues to be a member of a union in which they don't have a say or their union president wouldn't represent them. Would someone please explain that to me?

The "board member in question never did anything to me personally that I'm aware of." "Attack(s)?" I don't think the board member or someone doesn't understand what an attack really is!

Attack is what was done to Dr. Shenk on countless occasions! What about all the attacks that were done to Dr. Shenk led by Ralphie and continuously being heaped upon Dr. Shenk not just by Ralphie but also his fellow school board followers?

Attack is what Ralphie has done to fellow school board members who disagree with Ralphie! Perhaps I need to change Ralphie's name to "Intimidator!" After all, that is what he is-- an "intimidator!"

Attack is also what has been done to district residents when they sign in to address the school board with their issues of concern!
No, the "intimidator" didn't murder my pet! If they did, I would have filed a lawsuit against them.

I don't "hate" the "intimidator!" Where did you ever come up with that conclusion?

I don't deny that I dislike the "intimidator" but hate..... nope. I don't hate anyone.

Actually, what I really dislike overall is the "intimidator's" behavior at school board meetings! I dislike observing the "intimidator" harshly attempting to embarass, humiliate and intimidate a fellow school board member at a school board meeting and harshly criticize the school board secretary at the same meeting!

I dislike the attitude and behavior displayed by the "intimidator" at school board meetings!

I think the "intimidator" needs to enroll in Emily Post's school to learn proper etiquette! If the "intimidator" does not cease their current attitude and behavior!

Actually identical typos can indeed appear post after post! I didn't attack someone first about typos, that someone attacked moi! So let's get the facts straight here!
