You know what the funny part is, this plan mostly affects people who don't even live in the city. It's great how the city can't recover money because more than half of the city is on public assistance or SSI. Hey I got an idea, how about we get some money from these dead beat out of state landlords who leave these properties a wreck and moves the same quality of people in them. I think the greatest plan is reducing the police force which will be good for the crack revenue being brought in. Good for you drug dealers, this means bigger rims on those BMW's and Mercedes SUV's that you have parked in the affluent areas of the hood (500 block Gordon). And last but not least I think we have a great mayor. All he has to do is hire an outside resource and sit back and collect a salary. I want to be a mayor when I grow up, but paying for parking while I work would suck. Thats ok though, ill get rid of the fire department and have people throw butter on the fires. Well, I'd just like to say God bless the illegal alien, and the invention of the ACCESS card.

Or really? this plan does not effect people in the city?
I own a home in Reading...they are going to raise our property taxes
I work in the city.. I will have to pay almost 4% EIT under this plan!!
I have to pay for parking at my job..I already pay $82.00 a month JUST to park at my Jod. This would make parking get increased another 2.50 a day!!!!!!!!!

I am so angry at the city for PUNISHING The FEW homeowners and people who DO work. It is sick!
Maybe I should just Rent my house to welfare people and move away.......one less person the city can suckle off of!

Jess: I feel for anyone who lives in Reading (Except
the freeloaders and illegals) If i were you I would rent your home Make sure you have positive cash flow when you set the rent $$$ Here in Lehigh Valley the avg rental for 3 bedroom is $850 $750 for 2 Then just move to another rental unit. Allentown earned income tax is at 1% as are most municipalities. There was not enough good taxpaying citizens due to your lower scum living off the taxpayers.( I dont mean disabled) Just people who could work and hide their live in boyfriends. OBAMA will not care about you or Readings problems. We need to take care of ourselves and not be privy to OBAMA,S socialist philosophies that are ingrained to his core

I can't wait...The best part is, if Council doesn't agree the state will pull it's funding. The best part is, all of our tax dollars are paying close to 6 million a year to PFM group to manage this plan. So who is ACT 47 really helping? Sounds like it's helping Fast Eddie and his cronies as usual. But don't worry I'm sure the residents of Reading that still work, and the City's Unions will all suffer so Fast Eddie can get his share.

If I lived or worked in Reading I would beg to pay a little more tax if that is what it took to make the city even a little nicer, and the budget more sustainable. How can the city employees complain about the city, salaries, benefits, and conditions, but fight measures to improve such things? Should everyone give but them? Come on. You have to park a little further away. How about locking up a bike next to the free parking spot you choose? Then when you get to that spot, unlock your bicycle and ride to the courthouse, city hall or other congested area. That is what I did when I went to Penn State. Rain, shine, suit and tie, whatever. You aren't even allowed to park w/in a mile of some buildings on campus unless you have a good reason for them to give you a permit. I'll bet the students stay in better shape than the average employee in Reading.

They came to Reading because of cheap rents, readily available benefits, free health care, etc.
Raise the rents, no more additional rentals, get rid of the criminals (poison), get rid of the gangs (double poison), arrest all drug dealers and buyers in BERKS COUNTY, especially including the movers and shakers, arrest the white industry males buying and using, put their names in the paper...no more deals for "important" people
Put undercovers in lager industries and find the uses and dealers..if I see it..you'll see it
Stop rewarding ciminals with jobs...move 'em out like other places did before they came here
Put birth control in the water at the middle and high schools LOL
Write or call Metcalfe o your DC reps because the locals are an hispanic for hispanic joke...they are practicing reverse discrimination also aid and abetting illegals by not supporting us.

The "plan" is like pissing in the wind, like clipping a toenail when major heart surgery is required.
The city needs to make massive cuts in spending, cutting as many programs and laying off as many people as necessary.
No sacred cows.
