Ridiculous.....The cop should be suspended w/o pay.

Lesson learned. Now people will think twice before they do something like this. He chose to break the law and the police had every right to do what it takes to protect the players, umpires and themselves. Do you really think a cop would knowing taser someone in front of thousands of witnesses if he was not within his rights? Today's world is sick, we are not in 1980 when Morgana would run on the field and try to kiss a player. Have some respect for the law, you seem like a person who speeds and then is mad at the police for giving you a ticket. If anyone needs to be ashamed of themselves it should be you for that comment. Grow up!

the kids an idiot, he got what he deserved. If they wouldn't have used the taser on him there would be people thinking its ok to run on the field all the time.

the playing field is reserved for the players everyone who is sane knows that. He got what he deserves by the way if the team managers don't agree don't hire the police.

Good kids obey the law and respect others. The kid is a jerk. Maybe if he was spanked when he was a kid the officer wouldn't have had to tase him and waste the cartridge.

I think they should have used rubber buckshot, then tasered him and then beat him with a baton because he is an idiot :)

thiy did have a right because maybe he could of been drunk and i know he was 17 but he could of got it from someone else and they do have the right to do whatever they need to get him off the field and for the game to continue for the people who bought tickets to watch them play!!

The father calls the cop's actions "uncalled for"...

Oh brother. How about your son's actions?? Much more uncalled for. Typically high railings, gates, and fences are there to signal to rationally thinking individuals that they're not to be climbed over. Yes, everyone makes mistakes. But staring in the face of one and doing it anyway? That's not smart at all. And then to run around the field away from the 5 or 6 personnel who were chasing him down? He should be glad he was tased and not shot with rubber bullets.

Brian is not the only one that feels that way..., by the way I am a METS fan too :-), I think that was a bit extreme and so do many others. And many others and I also believe that officer did not want to or couldn't chase him and that's the only reason why he tasered him.

it was a harmless teenage prank.....
even kids who drink and drive and kill ... don't get the taser

he should not have been on the field but it was harmless-the taser was excessive force

This fan deserved what he got, everyone
involved was able to walk away.
It's the same argument as with Police
and High Speed Chases. If they let him
go untill he chooses to stop the Police
are wrong for allowing a potential threat
to everyone around him. If they use force
or pursue, someone whines about Police
Brutality or how they endangered the public
which was already at risk.

GOOD JOB officer.

In todays environment and with what happened in NY granted all he had on was a T-shirt and it's pretty obvious that he was unarmed but who knows????

His father should have told him if you run onto the field DON'T COME HOME!!! Hello that will get the point across and his frineds that he was there with probably challenged him which makes them accomplices.

Best part is I bet he can kiss Penn State goodbye if he gets convicted of the charges????

Foghorn-Leghorn said it best " Bright boy, I say bright boy....nobody home!!!!"!

Why should security or police place themselves in danger by tackling the 'criminal' (because that is what he is) when you have a way of capturing him and keeping yourself separated from him until he is 'subdued' by the taser. Poor choices result in consequences, welcome to adulthood.

It was not a harmless teenage prank. The police had no idea what his intentions were. Running out on a baseball field is not considred normal behavior.

Should taser the father for being a moron and sticking up for the kid. Saying he did not realize the consequences for what he did. At 17 years old did not realize. More like 17 going on 5.
