Cut all sports programs. They are costly and do not contribute anything to the education of young people.
Are you KIDDING? Study after study has shown that kids who participate in sports and the arts consistently score the highest on standardized tests. Additionally, most colleges look at extra-curricular activities as a deciding factor for admission. And finally, these activities teach kids to work in a team environment, a necessity in our current workforce jargon of being a 'team player'. Past generations in our country were concerned with the future of our nation and our kids.... it really seems that today's society cares only for themselves.

Maybe in the district you live in! No where near those numbers where I'm from! Maybe admins!
And I have known very little teachers who retired early. There is a 3 percent penalty for every year you work under 35.
If a person makes a career out of the military that is great! Just remember they are taken care of very well in their pension if they get full retirement. Not to mention housing and food while they are in the service. This more than compensates for their $20-25k salaries!
Everyone has their own feelings on this so it is what it is. For whats it's worth, I have never heard teacher complain about the money the make especially at the top of the pay scale. It is not your teachers fault we are in this mess.
If only schools could put the excess budget money in a savings account and carry it over into other years! But no! Gov't doesn't let that happen so schools spend every last dime! Not to mention most schools have had a huge growth in number of admins!
Just keep blaming your teachers! That's what politics want you to do! Down with the schools so it's more for them to spend on other projects while we never see a break in taxes
3% penalty and still retire in you mid 50s. If you go to retirement age you double up and pension out more than when you were so-called working. Burn out can happen from doing nothing.

We have our own school problems, why would we want to support yours.
