Hes anyone here ever been to that awful little junk shop in Hamilton? It is suppose to be a retail store, but it isn't. Careful what you buy there, the owner (Calvin Neal) is always hanging around and he is the nastiest man I ever met, rude, dishonest, combative, and a little hostile at times. I've been there 2 times and thats it for me! A horrible experience every step of they way. They don't even have a return policy!! You buy it and your stuck!!

You are very wrong. the mosby center sells great products if you are willing to accept that it is a discount center and not everything is perfect. there is a return policy and you will see it if you are educated enough to read a sign. you may return any item for an even exchange or store credit as long as you have your reciept. if calvin was to let any asshole return everything he/she had the slightest problem with, he would go out of business. he may be tough but he has to be to run a business. so quit being so picky, if you want a deal go to the mosby center. if you want a perfect product with a perfect return policy go someplace else and pay double the price.

I just discovered The Mosby enter Outlet in Hamilton while out for a drive. I was thrilled! It has state of the art electronics, china, crystalm jewerly, designer purses, housewares, hardware, furniture as well as great clothing and even snacks, ALL 50-80% off retail!!! I think that it is one of Loudoun Countys biggest well kept secrets! I had no problem dealing with the owner,(my opinion is that h's a no nonsense type, and dosen't suffer fools easily!)and purchasesd many quality items ant a DEEp discount. I will be telling all my friends to check it out. It is great to find thid quality merchandise at such a huge discount. I say that the sirs in Broad run and Purcelville, should stay away and leave room for the rest of us satisfied cuastomers!

The return Policy is store chedit w/in 10 days with reciept. I very common policy in most stores. I purchased somthing from best Buys ( a huge mistack) and when I wnet to return it, WITH the reciept, I was told it was past their return date and I cold not return it.

I've been taking my Chevy Chase Maryland lady friends shopping to The Mosby Center for years and it is always great. Crystal for one daughter's wedding gift, clothing, shoes, tvs, holiday food, cameras, office supplies, toys, household items, flatware - and we have never had a day's trouble with any item. Damaged boxes or other deficiencies are noted. That is why it is an OUTLET, not a first line retail store at twice or three times the price. We hope Calvin stays in business forever - we'll be customers. And we enjoy the drive.

Dear "Livid" and "Leesburg" Get a grip - Calvin has his items marked with appropriate tags (you are probably one of the ones that tried to say there is no tag or pull it off and scam him) he is fair and nice. He is only rude when he is approached by asshole customers like yourselves and he needs to be have in such a way to get you the hell out.

He has plenty of return customers that spread the word about his store - people like you he doesn't need or want.

If you read the signs, asked politely about the policy and how things work - he will take the time to tell you

If you ASSUME - well we all know the saying of assuming makes an ass of your self.

Please go to the retail stores and pay the jacked up prices - run up your credit card bills and go in debt - it is idiots like you that crack me up.

We love the Mosby Center. We found it quite by accident. Go about every week now! Bought a 61 inch TV - wonderful. I've had to return one thing out of probably 150+ purchases. It was within the appropriate 30 days, and had no problem whatsoever. Great place to shop for the out-of-ordinary gift at a great price. It's a great scenic drive over from Harpers Ferry!

Funny.. looks like LOYAL CUSTOMER, THRILLED CUSTOMER and "Judy" are all the same person.. they all seem like ADS for the mosby center. While I have made a purchase or two I can't be like "Loyal Customer Also" that purchased over 150+ at this place. The Only place I have purchased 150+ things are maybe Giant Food. I also find it too peculiar that both LOYAL CUSTOMER and FAB PLACE to shop both call the "uninformed" customer an ASSHOLE. Just seems like Mosby folks (owners, employees, friends, etc are making up posts rather than let customer post real experiewnce) Just Sayin.

We are headed to the Mosby Center for the first time tomorrow. I've heard from many friends what a great discount place it is. It's a drive but I hear it's worth it. I'll post my "real" experience after our visit.

Well it was well worth it. Yes it is a small store but boy is it packed with goodies. I was looking for a 50" Plasma TV and what a deal I got. Our first visit Calvin had one 50" but it had a small scratch. I asked him to call me if he gets anymore. Well he called and we drove out his past weekend. The drive was well worth it. He was super and so was the deal he gave us! Happy shopping!(And I was not hired by anyone to write this).

I live in Purcellville and have known about the Mosby Center for a few years. I have made numerous purchases there and never had a problem. I recently bought an Olympus dual lens digital camera and I saved about $200 off Costco's price for the item! I tested it out during the town's Holiday Parade and couldn't be happier with the results. Even though I can read, being a smart shopper, I asked about the return policy and manufacturer's warranty before I made the purchase. I am headed back for more stuff, so if you don't like shopping there, please stay home. That will leave more bargains for me! Thanks!

Okay, It was entertaining reading all of these very descriptive reviews of the mosby center. Of all the posts here I notice one thing.. It seems like the people that are "bitching" are just the loud portion of the consumer population. Here is a tip. If you are about to go out and make any purchase (not just electronics), go one step further than flipping through the sunday ad's and watching endless hours of commercials about things you might want to buy. The basic idea behind k-12 education and for that matter college is to achieve a higher level of thinking. Many times requiring people to do a little thing called "research". First things first.. If you think that you are getting a good deal on electronics at costco or target or walmart, your not.. Lots of people shop on line or ebay or whatever and have no idea what they are buying. People look at price point and cosmetics. Did you know that there is more to high tech items like digital cameras, LCD's, Plasmas, and EVERY OTHER THING THAT USES POWER OR IS CONSIDERED ELECTRONICS. Consumers now days really don't know what a good thing is, most of us walk in to best buy and have some idiot 18 year old kid tell us all about the T.V. or camera they are selling. When in reality all that kid is thinking about is when they are getting off work. There are many items at the store that you will want to stay away from, and then there are things that you are getting a great deal on and are worth every penny. And as far as Calvin (I never knew his name but I will be sure to say hi to him next time since some of you think he is a dick) Well, how about everyone leave him alone.. Fact of the matter is he is a small business owner still running his shop in a community full of people that have more money than they know what to do with. He provides a service to the area that you will find ALL OVER THE WORLD!! Anyone ever been to NYC and bought anything off the street that was "bargain"?? Same idea, but he is always there and regardless of what you think, he will work with you. I'm going there today just to walk around and see whats there, its a neat store and I love it.. I'm sure if there was some stupid horse store, or maybe a bicycle store for all the mentally retarded adults that clog up the roads around Loudoun county, some people would love it, and others would complain.. For all you that complain.. Go talk to the 18 year old that doesent care about you.. Or just Shut the hell up..

While I have yet to get to the Mosby Ctr, i do hear about good deals there. However, I remember seeing Calvin when the Mosby Ctr was an auction house in Upperville back in 1999. And I can attest to his being rude and quite arrogant. I just shook my head at some of the outragous bids he was trying to get and his hassling of the crowd. However, I did bid & buy a nice home theatre system then.

So yes, I agree theowner may be a bit rude or harsh, but he can have SOME good deals

I have been to this site before and didn't post a comment....for just plain lazy reasons. I heard about the Mosby Center through a friend and I have been nothing but a 'satisfied customer'! First, you MUST realize that this isn't a "new" purchase and that should never leave your mind. I have purchased a 62" DLP T.V. that has worked great since day 1. A friend and my in-lays also bought one {same TV} with the same results. I've bought a HD-DVD player and a GPS some clothing and 'odds and ends'........all with "not new" pricing. I'm not here to say what kind of guy Calvin is, I'm here to say that if you're looking to puchase a TV, video cam, GPS, some clothing, etc. at a discounted price....it's a good place to do business. Just remember that you're not walking into Best Buy or Costco or any other type of establishment like that...... I forgot to mention that my friends 62" TV had problems and it was replaced with no questions.....the 2nd one has been fine since then.

I like the Mosby Center. The owner can be a little grumpy but that's just who he is.

The deals there are excellent but you should always be a smart shopper about what you buy. That's true almost anywhere. Some items may be marked down because they are indeed damaged or open boxed. I am very pleased with the TV we bought from them.

If you want something you can buy risk free and return when it breaks then you should stick to the Wal-Mart.

I have been a customer for a little over 2 years and I think that it’s a great place. I have purchased several items from there (2 HDTV's) cloths (Lucky jeans normally $88 in retail store I think that I paid $15 for them), household items, Ipod Nano for $99 selling for $149 in retail store. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for. There have been times when I rode up and got nothing more than a soda just didn’t see anything. If you shop at Marshall’s, TJ Maxx than shopping at Mosby Center is no different. Better Prices!

As far as Calvin is concerned, he is a nice man. He has never disrespected me or my surrounding. He always speaks and remembers his customers. If I owned a store and was retired, I would be in there most of the time as well....I'm sure that you would too. Think about it! That is his life, protect what’s yours.

He does has a return policy and when I bought my 1st TV from him he plugged it up, made sure that everything that was to come with it was attached and he also told me that if I have any problems to please call him and bring it back for a FULL REFUND. It seems like the people that are complaining are the ones that want the stuff for FREE.

FYI: a lot of people shop in his store rather than retail stores…I have been there and seen several REDSKIN players come in on several different occasions. THEY don’t need to go to his store (they have plenty of money and can go wherever) but they do. Calvin is an honest man and they know that his items are legit and so is he.
