you do a great job neill but heres my chance to tell you something. i was your waitress years and years ago , and you walked out and left a ten cents tip , for the future remember to tip your waitress well ,no matter the service they deserve more than that , you have to stop and think of what their jobs consist of and you never know if they have children at home that need to eat . they depend on those tips because they only make 2.00 - 4.00 on the hour plus the tips and 4.00 is putting it high, but at the time you left the dime i was only earning 2.75 an hour . i'm not mad anymore but please take care of your waitress

Oh, no they do not deserve a good tip "no matter the service". First of all, my family is PAYING to eat, and their boss should pay them enough that they don't depend on tips. It should not be the paying public's job to pay the restaurant's employees. Second, if the service is bad, the tip will be bad, too. My favorite tip left by my husband to a snotty waitress who gave poor service.. he wrote on the bill she left, "Don't sneer at my wife." We both thought she should heed that very good tip. Perhaps if she did, her future tips were better.

Yes, childish one, I have heard of something called karma. It's that mumbo jumbo mess idiots like you believe in. I believe in God, doing good work for what I am paid for, and paying for what something is worth instead of paying for poor quality work, food, clothes, service, or anything else on which I choose to spend my hard-earned money,(I also believe in using correct English and grammar, by the way. You should have written "You're a mean woman..."; you need a verb to go with your subject, not the possessive pronoun "Your".) I do NOT believe that God gave you the right to decide who's mean or who deserves anything in life. I know exactly how hard waitressing is because I have seen MOST wait staff do it extremely well. They both earn and deserve the very good tips my husband and I leave them. If your "friend" (and we all know to whom people are referring when they use that word.) wants good tips, she/he should give good service so she will both deserve it and earn it. In fact, if she wants even to KEEP that job she needs, she should be willing to do it the way it should be done. As for karma, I won't worry about anything so stupid or irrelevant. Thanks for giving my husband and me a good laugh. And we're sorry you must have been left "high and dry", as you so cutely referred to someone's leaving you, by some man at some time in your life. Not every man or woman is alike. But it's good to know there are people like you who seem to believe God gave them the right to know the future so you can warn them. You don't. Now, go rub that rabbit's foot and throw some salt over your shoulder or whatever else you believe in to ward away that pox I just put on you! And hurry because it's going to work really fast, and you'll have an awfully bad year if you don't get rid of it before it starts to work.

Oh, come on. Can't you think up something better than your trite comment? Talk about being grown up; you're a classic case of the pot's calling the kettle black. Let's see if I can get you back. How about, "Sticks and stones can break my bones, but YOUR words will never hurt me?" Oh, I've got it! How about, "I'm rubber, and you're glue. What you say bounces off me and sticks right back to you?" And to top it off, "Whatever." Thanks for the good laugh. You're a riot.

I really hate the fact you've held this against me all these years and didn't confront me sooner. It's not like I'm really hard to find. I also place VERY LITTLE weight on people who complain anonymously in forums like this or on radio call-in shows.(I honestly don't remember ever leaving anyone a 10-cent tip.) But since you brought it up here, I feel like I need to respond. I guarantee you the only reason I'd leave such a low tip would be for really unsatisfactory service (no drink refills, no asking if my order was okay, no coming back to ask if you could get anything else for me, keeping me waiting holding the menu for more than 10-minutes before taking my order and not apologizing, being rude--- just to name a few I've encountered over the years). I tip well when the service is good. In fact, I usually tip 20-percent. And I respectfully disagree with your statement "no matter what the service they deserve better than that." What if I had not left a tip at all?(I know a lot of people who would have done just that.)

I didn't hold it against you all these years , I just saw your name and thought i would write about my encounter with you. I always give 110 percent in all that i do ,no matter the job ,and your right ,alot of folks don't tip and it should be the employers place to pay the employee as the lady said in her statement , but thats life and thats why I don't waitress anymore .

Well said, Neill McNeill, well said. Good service gets very good tips from my husband and me; poor service gets what amount we think it deserves. No one deserves being tipped "no matter what the service they deserve better than that." It's obvious to anyone who watches you work that you do your job very well, that your employers get your best work, and that your viewers benefit as a result of your work ethic. It's too bad there are some people who feel that they deserve more than they are willing to give.

Daily Horoscope for December 6

Virgo

Luckily, you're less susceptible to people leaning on you today, but there's still a chance that someone might try to take advantage of your good nature. It's so darn difficult to stand up to them, partly because you genuinely want to help if you can, and partly because you don't want to be seen in a bad light. But you don't want to be seen as a doormat either, do you?
