It was rescheduled in Allentown for saturday evening. Unfortunately, the word didn't get out to everyone. I only knew because my sister, who lives in Cetronia, asked if I wanted to take my girls out trick-or-treating with her children. I figured it was just something that South Whitehall Township was doing so I didn't put anything out at home. I did sit out with my girls Friday night and handed out candy. The girls went out to a few houses but came back immediately because it was so cold and wet.

On another note, I cannot believe the number of people that went trick-or-treating without a costume. One boy must have just been getting home from aftercare. He jumped out of the minivan with his backpack still on. He was going to go into his house when he noticed me sitting out with the candy. He runs over to me for a handout. I asked him if his costume was a school boy. Others (adults and children) looked for handouts as they walked down the street also not in costume. Some just opened their grocery bags & tossed the candy inside. Unbelievable!

Really? We listened to the radio (99.9) all evening up until 6pm on Friday night, didn't hear anything, and assumed things were as usual. We still had an ok number of trick-or-treaters on Friday night.

How did they get the word out? There was nothing on the Morning Call's site, nor on WFMZ's site.

Which one of us are you talking about?

I do, in fact, live in Phoenixville. But I get all of four kids on my street down here. It's much more fun to go up to my mom's in Allentown and get dressed up to hand out candy, where on a good night she'll get something like 200 kids.

Michelle may or may not be from Havertown/ford (I forget which - my apologies)- she may just have an IP address based out of there for whatever reason (be it she's behind a proxy, her ISP assigned her an odd address). Or maybe she just does what I do.

I dunno - is it such a big deal that there are Philly area people that are still in the Lehigh Valley loop?

There are lots of people that have moved out of the area and still post here..There's nothing wrong with staying in the loop..

From what I've heard, Freemansburg's trick or treat was moved to Sunday, Nov 4th. I am not sure of the times (probably the usual 6-8) and if they are still having a bonfire.

City officials should consider that most parents spend good money on costumes and candy to hand out. Rescheduling trick or treat should have been done without second thought.

It sure isn't like it used to be. The good old days when your parents can send you out with homemade costumes and have you return with several bags loaded with treats. And no worries about anyone getting bad candy, or molested along the way.
I recall my younger days in A-Town.
It sure was a good old place to grow up in.
So sorry to see and hear how bad it has gotten.
Maybe, someday I'll come upon a windfall and take back the town. Much like what Donnie Trump had done with Atlantic City, minus the casinos (what else would be left you might ask).
Place border patrols @ the county lines for starters (let me dream for abit, will ya), raise the drinking age to say......45 (ok, just for hard liquor.........OK OK, moonshine then), bring back all the LEGIT contests to the Fair!!!(YEAH!)
Vote in a hip major (for sure), and evict joey (clark) to baghdad, forcing him to fish out of the tigris for his meals, HOWEVER, having to be forced to pay his back taxes @ the same time.

Sorry to see that you have not made friends in your new home town. Do you regret moving away from Allentown?

Exactly how old are you? Do your parents know you use their computer to post on public forums?
