I can tell you 150% that the mall story is not true. Neither is the Old Richardsville Rd bridge story.

The Old Scottsville Rd haunt is actually on Middle Bridge Stub Rd and is now closed off to adventurers (go there and risk trespassing charges or worse.) I cannot tell 100% if the place is haunted since I am hardly an expert but I did have two real and frightening experiences there back in 1999. Its a shame that it is now closed off.

The Octagon House is amazing. While I have never experienced anything there during my one visit, the staff was amazingly helpful in showing photos, videos and EVPs of the activity there. The best part about it is that they didn't even charge us for the stories.

Has anyone heard the stories of Murder Mansion on Fairview Avenue? I've never heard the full details on it.

I personally LOVE this stuff!!! I have been to Waverly Hills in Louisville and will be going to the Thomas House in TN which was featured on Paranormal State.
I have heard the stories also about WKU and the bridge on Old Scottsville Rd as well as the Octagon House. A couple you might want to check would be the old house in Russellville which is very well known and the mall parkig lot, although I don't know how true the mall parking lot is, I read it in a book I think about haunted KY.
But, the house in Russellville is very well known but I don't know the name of it. I'm sure its registered as a historic landmark, but I don't know if you can get into it to tour it.
The house is called The Sexton House. It is indeed a historical landmark. Back in the late 1800's a girl was getting ready for a date with her boyfriend when it began to storm. Her parents wouldnt let her go. She ran upstairs to her room and went to the window that faced 9th street. She began cursing at God, when lighting struck her thru the window. Which resulted in her image being in the window forever. You used to be able to see the image on stormy nights. They tried painting over the window and it didnt help. Now they have it boarded up. The stairs that led to her room have been taken out of the house. The house is still there and the person that is living there is the cemetary keeper now. There is no tours available. Personally, i have seen the girl in the window many years ago on a stormy night. But now that the window is boarded up, you cannot see her. The story has been documented in books all across america!

Try this link. A friend of mine was going to go there but it was booked for a few months. Call and make reservations if you want to go. Search the net. There is tons of info about this place and blogs from people who have been.

Not really sure if I believe in hauntings but I've heard the Octogon House just south of BG in Franklin on 31W is very haunted and there's a bridge off Hwy 185 on Boatlanding Rd that's supposed to be haunted.
My friends and I rented the Octogon House overnight. It was fun, but nothing "strange" happened. The stories about Confederate Soldiers being hidden there are true; the stories about their spirits marching through the backyard are not--at least not on that night. When we rented it, the curator asked if we wanted any "special effects." Since we were mainly interested in real stull, not special effects, we declined. It was indeed spooky, though, and what other historic museum is going to let you spend the night at any price?

The year before, this same group went to Waverly Sanitorium in Louisville and spent the night. That was really creepy, but again, no supernatural activity.

Singing Bridge on Old Richardsvhille Road is also a fun experience, but the closest thing to supernatural that happened there was some meth addict throwing two Edmonson County elderly women off it after car-jacking their truck as they were on their way to church. Gotta love those Edmonson Countians--they survived!!!!

I have heard so many conflicting stories about "Murder Mansion" on Fairview. It is featured in a book about Bowling Green put out by the Landmark Association. It's interesting on many levels, but the book points out that photos of the corpses were published in the newspaper (which never happens). I have the book and keep meaning to go look at the archived papers at the library, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

One story even has it that the hauntings at Murder Mansion are connected to the hauntings at Singing Bridge in that their daughter committed suicide by jumping off the Singing Bridge because she was pregnant. I find this hard to believe since two elderly ladies were thrown off that bridge and surivived. That one was in the newspaper a couple of years ago...not that I beleive everything I read in the Daily Snooze.

do you know of any local haunted places in the Warren County area. I know there is 1 place up by Park Mammoth Resort. It's the old slave cave. The main cave is barred up but there is a stairway in another part that is open.
Be very careful if you go around there.
Let me know where the haunted places are that you know of. I would like to get together and discuss these places.
I am moving back home to Bowling Green in the next month and I am an experienced ghost hunter. Looking forward to finding some haunts around my old haunts. LOL

ive grown up here my whole life andhere is the low down on some things.

-old richardsville rd-my friend swears up and down her great aunt was the one who dies on this bridge. If u want it to push u across u have to drive to the other side, turn around, reenter the bridge and put it in neutral about 15 feet in. It does work but nothing out of the ordinary i have seen. My friends though do have a picture they took in high school there and in the background u can see something gllowing in the woods. Ill search their facebook and get a link to it.

-barren river rd- the only place i have been to on this rd was located about a mile off of veterans memorial right past scottys. Its on the right and pretty far back off the rd. Its a old farming place but be very careful because i know years ago when i went scottys was suppose to be blasting it and had it wired. I dont know if it has been done or not.
It is a very freaky place but i doubt it is haunted. Meth has bee cooked there and we went and explored it during the day and found where someone had been sleeping in the basement. Behind the building is two barns and further back is a family cemetary where the graves have been pretty much ran sacked. There is a raised stone coffin for a baby where the body is missing. Completely direspectful. The weirdest thing i have seen here is the first time i went in and went upstairs. There was a funeral wreath at the last set of stairs with a picture of a biy looking to be about 9 or so with the moonlight shining on it.
again i repeat, do not go here. It is dangerous with the dynamite and meth addicts are not people to be messed with.

-middle bridge rd-this is and actual haunted place. I will elaborate more here in a bit after my next class
