What a great story!! I love how the South Warren HS people look down their noses at BGHS. Looks like not only do you all have a drug problem too but your admin likes to cover it up and make sure your athletes continue to play. What a message to send!!! Warren County School District should be ashamed of this behavior. It wasn't a misunderstanding, it was an attempt to cover something up.

With the vehicles parked on school property, the parents DO NOT have to be notified before searching a vehicle.

Well evidently the principal agreed with that on all the cars of the "nobodies". But the two athletes got special treatment.

Wow, this is not good. It does seem like there was some attempt to be unfair.

I can't believe one car was able to leave without being checked. Sounds pretty fishy.

Lets do keep in mind though that no drugs were found (in the cars that were searched). So, lets not make false accusations about the kids.

Well one drove off and it was never searched. Read the article. The other athletes car was searched and ok. It was the fact they allowed everyone to be searched but those two. Only looking out for rights of two people not many. Those two happened to be athletes

I think the one who got out of it should have consequences. HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN?

The west side BGHS students are the ones selling it to the county schools.

This has nothing to do with bghs and kids on drugs. It's that the policy of how cars are searched suddenly changed when athletes are involved. They could both be innocent but we will never know about one because admin didn't want to chance finding out. They got treated differently

I won't voice my opinion about how leaving the school will likely be viewed as this student may be a minor. But I will say that I think it is shameful that two athletes were given preferential treatment.

Did you even read the article??

"Juvenile petitions were issued to students whose cars contained illegal drugs, Smith said. He declined to say at which schools drugs were found."

The Sheriffs Office should have told the principal where to go and got a search warrant on the cars if the school wouldn't let them get consent.

I'm sure they were playing nice with the school district for the sake of politics but the principal really doesn't have authority to say anything to them if their dog hits on a car.

If the deputy had probable cause to search he or she should have searched or gotten a warrant while warning the principal to not interfere. Double standard and incompetent law enforcement written all over this deal.
