I have heard rumors of a ghost locomotive that rolls through Bowling Green in the early morning hours. I have heard that this locomotive is black with no lights, bells or whistle and travels at an extremely high rate of speed. I have heard that if it reaches you and you are sober and pure of heart that it will carry your soul to salvation. If you are not sober or pure of heart, it will send your soul to damnation.

Has anyone else heard of this? Sounds kind of crazy.

Oh you will not need a sippy cup or undies where he will take you but you will wish that you had. Your child like behavior only fuels it's engine more.

I have seen this train before!! NO KIDDING. totally spooked me out. I heard that it takes you to see the tooth fairy and Santa Claus, but only if you have been good!!! And if you are bad it will sprout a bean stalk out of your ass and wizards will pop out.

Who are you people to be so cruel and judgemental against Legend? This person simply posted a question about a local legend and you guys had to rip them to shreds. Personally, I am very interested in local legends that spring up in and around towns both large and small in America..cause there is always a grain of truth somewhere in those legends and that is what I research...It would have been interesting had someone of some intelligence had answered Legend in a semi-decent tone instead of condescending sarcasim (and not very well done at that..if this is an example of the intelligence of the people of Bowling Green then I am lucky to live elsewhere..

Its not, these are just the local dumbasses, that have no life at all. I personally love hearing of local legends as well, sometimes there is some truth to the legend sometimes its just made up to scare younger people. The fun is figuring out which the legend is.

It's pretty sad that these people can't take anything seriously. I grew up hearing stories of this ghost locomotive and the drunk impure souls it carried away. One of the main reasons I stay away from down there at night.

I hadn't heard of the legend until now, and its one that has gotten my attention, mostly because I'm a fan of trains.

anyone remember Paul Cox from Delafield in the 60s and early 70s? He was an alcoholic that hung out on main street and had been hit by that train! The saying was lend me five till Paul Cox straightens up.
