Was eating lunch at raffertys yesterday and this rude woman next to us told me to take a picture of her and her friend, my husband and I were in the middle of our meal so I politely said I wasnt the best photographer, she just glared at me after that, but what was so rude is she had to be over 60 years old and just told me I need you to take a picture and didn't politely ask me to take it. For starters it's rude period to interrupt someones meal, second her tone was pathetic and bossy, and third there's a whole staff of waitresses, managers, hosts, and cooks that can take a picture and have the time. In fact when I worked at Denny's I would volunteer to take a picture for a table if they looked like they needed someone to take the picture and I even did it for tables not in my section, I think it's just the height of rudeness to interrupt a table next to you when you don't know them and they are eating.

And finally to the lady yesterday if you read this, you were very rude and disrespectful to me and my husband and if I see you again you may get smacked. Obviously you have zero class and manners and I will beat them into you.

You have to overlook some people. But what I don't understand is that your telling a woman in or over her 60s that she may get slapped? That is rude also.

It is rude, but I believe sometimes if you deal with trash you have to get on there level sometimes, this was one of the rudest women I have ever seen and I have to be 20 years younger than her. I am not perfect, but I have never disrespected a stranger like that or bothered someone while eating. I can be a pill but I don't take it out in public.

looks like another crazy instance that you get used to here in BG. you have to remember a lot of people in this area don't have a clue how to act in public. that lady was probably on more than a few medications and crazy as shit. sometimes i see older folks around here driving in a manner that's just plain psychotic. it's like they've never been in a car almost. my advice is be ready to handle a wide variety of social situations around here or you'll find yourself getting angry and making a mistake. don't think you need to slap her because she's obviously going to have a hard enough time merely functioning and feeding herself in a few years.

If she was that rude why didnt you just tell her NO that you didnt want to be disturbed and let it go..Sounds like to me you cant take matters into your own hands, but then you want to get on here and threaten to slap her. Afraid you may have gotten your a&& whipped by an old woman??? lol

This woman wasn't super old and very co herent. She thought she could boss me and be cute, it didn't work that way and then gave me a cold look. If I had acted that way when I was a child to a stranger, my mother would have whipped me right there and she probably still would and I'm 41.

What was so surprising was this woman was well dressed and looked kinda wealthy and I'm just a beautician and had my work clothes on, did she think I was her servant? Did she think she was better than me? I am so mad right now thinking about it, I wanna smack her so bad. I have zero tolerance for uppity old women.

This topic has gotten off on my attitude and I apologize for coming off psycho, but let's be realistic the simple question I ask is:

Would you all be ticked off if a smart ass your sitting next to at raffertys interrupted your meal for a picture when a staff member could take the picture. Would you all be upset?

Listen. The lady sounds like she was being rude. She should have realized that you were eating and not disturbed you but you've flipped out like a bat sh@t crazy bit@h over something VERY minor. The way ur acting like a freaking drama queen is more of the problem than her being rude

To answer your question, I wouldn't be upset just because she interrupted my lunch. Now if she was snotty when she asked, yes I would be upset. But from reading your post, she wasn't rude until after you told her no. I was raised to respect my elders. If she starting talking crazy I would have just ignored her. Older people have different mind sets than the younger population. She sounds like she is just a bitter old lady. And maybe she was just having a bad day.

i wouldnt be ticked off for her bothering me as i ate to ask a favor. I may be upset if she was rude. But on the other hand, how do you think other customers who came there to eat would feel if they were having to wait on the waiter to take a pic for someone before they got waited on..Isnt that rude as well?

I was first offended when she got up out of her chair and I will never forget, she said in a barking manner and I quote " I need you to take a picture for me" she said it like I was her slave, my jaw just wanted to drop that a human being was so ignorant to demand that from someone interrupting there lunch date. Did she not realize her waitress could do that??? The waitress might have made more tip. It was rude from the first sentence, now if she had just asked for the time or something it would not have been an issue, I just want to confront her and put her in her place and teach her not to do that again.

To just sayin:

Every restaurant always has at least one staff member on break or not busy at the moment, if the waitress was busy with multiple tables than the manager or a bar tender or a host or someone not busy could give up 45 seconds to run over and take a picture because they are on there feet working. When I go out to eat, I go to sit for an hour and eat and not take your pictures. It's just a sign of respect.

Stop being an insufferable cu@t. Move on with ur life. Do you think this woman is concerned and telling the story of the a-hole who wouldn't take a photo for her at Raffettys? Highly doubt it

I will not take a photo of anyone else because this was unpleasant. In fact why don't you all tell me where your dining tomorrow and you can take a picture of me and my posse. I will make sure I interrupt you eating.

Lol I'm done. Your taking this thing to a whole different level. I'm half your age and I wouldn't continue or even begin ranting and raving about it on topix. Good luck on here

What's most amazing is this bothered you so much that you are on Topix ranting about it. Get over it.

And no, I would not have been upset if someone interrupted my meal to ask for a quick picture. I would have taken the picture and went on about my day. Just learn to enjoy your day and your interactions with others. Have fun. Quit being a grouch because that makes you more of a loser than the rude lady you saw at lunch days ago...

Topix is the perfect place to put something that irritates you. Dang people, she wasn't ranting, she just said the lady didn't ASK her to do anything, she TOLD her too. There's a hue difference. That would have ticked me off too. Kinda hard to "enjoy" an interaction like that!
