Other cities have more than one cable provider. Here in Bowling Green, we're screwed. I also can't stand the overkill of commercials Insight runs about how great their service is. They come on blaring loud and are very annoying!!!

Service is awful. The woman on the far right in the front office is really bad here at the local Insight.
Just try to call them too. Some of the worst phone support anywhere. May as well be in India!

Truth, call them again. You get used to the stupid jingles and which buttons to press to get a live person in Evansville or Louisville. Call several times a day if you have too. Write the CEO. That always gets the Bowling Green office to step it up. You pay a premium price for their service make them work for it. If you or anyone else have any problem with Insight please contact the CEO, Micheal Willner, at [email protected]
Also look at his blog http://www.michaelsinsight.com/

I currently work for Insight, but don't want to disclose the location for fear of losing my job if they read this. Let me tell you, they are anal retentive about sales and whenever a customer calls in for ANYTHING, it is our duty to SELL SELL SELL. That is truly Insights #1 priority. They gave us all a 'playbook' which is basically full of false data about our competition. Some examples include, Windstream locks you into a contract, has very bad accounting practices...b.s. like that...basically if we can make something 'good' up, we can use it. I truly hate my job, but am unable to find anything else with the economy. It really sucks that you have to work EVERY holiday, including Christmas so the big wigs at Insight can make a dime while they spend time with their families.

We get a lot of garbage calling in, but essentially it is our job to get out of issuing credits. We get a lot of calls regarding rates increasing and are ordered to tell them it is the cost of great service...bullshit.

Insight BB is pretty good, but our cable service is an absolute joke. For SD channels 1-70, it would cost $56. When you try to sign up, they will try to put you into a 'bundle' package and sell you broadband and cable. As a CSR, let me tell you not to fall for it. It looks like a GREAT deal. What the CSR's and salespeople don't tell you is that when you first sign up you essentially pay for 2 months worth of service. I have had countless pissed off people calling in because their first bill is $400. I have to lie to the people to keep my job and tell them that we had explained this to them...very sad. Also those 'bundles' will increase about $20 after the first year.

Insight is a corrupt cable provider and definitely needs some local competition. This is from the standpoint of a current employee.

to the guy that works there- is there any way for someone to get lower rates or to keep your rates from going up? We pay about 90 for cable and internet, it was much cheaper before the first year was up. I know some companies will give you the introductory rate again if you stay loyal to their company. Also, I do have one good thing to say, not about Insight but about whoever I talked to. When we got our wii I had a hard time getting wireless internet to work on it. I called insight and they told me to call nintendo. The next time I called for something unrelated I asked the guy about the wii and he spent 30 minutes explaining how to do it. THANKS!! I would have never figured it out on my own.

You should prob block your location because it lists the city you are currently in.

Forget blocking his location. That's the problem with this site. He was brave enough to give the truth, more people need to do what he does.

Personally I think insight is fine- if you guys think it is so bad, cut your service off, and get something else. That's what grown mature adults do.

Well only reason I said that was because he said he was an employee and didn't want to give his full name..didn't want him to get in trouble

But yes I agree with you, there are not a lot of people who speak the truth!

Their wireless Internet sucks, my computer was slow and most of the time would kick me off every few minutes. When I called to complain they told me I could crawl under the house and run a line to hook up regular Internet. When I explain I am 60 and female and don't crawl under houses they said they would do it for a fee but I never could get them to set up an appointment as they said it was do simple. I was frustrated and crying and these were the people in Louisville I was talking to. I finally found a nice neighbor to run a cable for me so I could have internet
