Also, we talked to a manager while we were there, a younger guy, because the beer we had ordered wasn't stocked.

Very polite, knowledgeable, apologetic. I hate to even mention if something is off, usually because I don't know how the manager will react. But you can tell he cares about the business. It was a pleasant customer service experience there.

We will be back, though. I'll repost once we do.

Everyone should try it, and report back. The other food might be good. But, it was worse then the $1.00 frozen pizza

You also have to consider how people are. If one thing at all bothered them, they will report EVERYTHING bad. If the pizza took 11 seconds longer to get to their table than they expected, they will write a review saying the waitress was rude, the pizza was nasty, there was a fly in their soup..etc..etc.. Its human nature if you find one thing wrong in your own mind, to tear down everything about it. The place was perfectly fine to me, pricey, but isnt everything in the world today?

Went last night. The decor was nice and my husband loved all the flat screen tv's broadcasting the game. Wish I could have tried the food though. We placed our order for a large pizza and after 30 minutes we heard the table next to us complaining to management that they had been waiting 2 HOURS for their food. That prompted us to ask our waitress how much longer our pizza would be. She said she would check and when she came back, she said that the kitchen told her it would be an additional 45 minutes minimum. That pretty much told me that the pizza hadn't even been put in the oven yet.

I felt bad for the kitchen...they were clearly overwhelmed. The place is new and they are probably just getting adjusted to things. We ended up canceling our order because we couldn't wait 1.5 hours (or potentially longer) for it.

Will I be back? Yes, because the server was nice and the drink selection was great. I'll just wait a bit until the kinks are worked out or order take out if I don't have all night to wait.

Give it a try if you happen to be there when they aren't busy and report back how the Chicago Style deep dish was. I spied it on another table and it looked promising.

we went out their saturday night for dinner and it started off bad and never got better. we ordered a bud light at the bar, the bartender got in our face and ask us how we could order a bud light with everything else she had on tap, Really I had ask for a different beer first but she didn't have it, but it really pissed her off when i order a bud light. It took us almost 2 hour to get seated. Once we did, their was 6 of us and we asked for a menu and thats what we got one menu for the 6 of us? again Really?
so we had to get up and get our own menu. We had to ask for silverware and they brought us only 2, we ordered a double order of bread stixs and they only brought us 4, but every time we asked the the help a question, she always replied, "i don't know" I really think that this place has some problems, It really sad when someone spend some much money into make their place look really great, but they should have lowered the budget on making the place look so great and spent more money on training their staff.

After hearing all these complaints, I'm going to have to try this place. Sounds like a good place to pick up hungry chicks.

Called for a carryout and said it be would be one hour. No thank you! Ordered mancino's and it was excellent! Even had a smart card that allowed one large specialty plus a medium for free. All under $20. Can't beat that!

Went tonight. I ordered a grilled cheese and sweet potato fries and my husband ordered a bacon cheeseburger and tater tots. Waited more than 25 minutes for the food and it wasn't good. One side of grilled cheese was burnt and other wasn't cooked at all. Husband's burger didn't have cheese - was way over-cooked and the tots were ice cold. I love local places - but this one was very disappointing.
Why in the Hell would you go to LOST RIVER PIZZA COMPANY and order a grilled cheese and bacon cheeseburger

I went there last night and ordered the special. It was served quickly and piping hot. I did notice the waitress kept a list of names. She said they came from a listserv on the Internet.

To answer your question without laughing is hard, but in town there is not much of a choice for great pizza. You have your run of the mill chain restaurants, that lets be honest are what they are. If I had to choose it would probably either be Pizzaroma or Greener Groundz (formerly bread and bagel) both have pretty good pizza.

I have found Greener Groundz to be a bit inconstant in the past. Pizzaroma didn't do anything for me. I tried Lost River Pizza and it wasn't the pizza I have been searching for. No one in BG is making what I would consider great pizza. But like I said before good pizza can be subjective.

But going back to Lost River, disregarding the price of the pizza, it didn't do anything for me. I know they are just starting out but I don't know how they well do long term. I seen a number of problems that could hurt them long term. I think some changes need to be made.

We were headed to Chicago to have real deep dish pizza that same week. Shouldn't put it on the menu if it won't be quality food.

You obviously haven't had the Dolce pie at Firehouse. Too bad you're such a critic. But, more for the rest of us.
