Agreed. The Medical Center's waiting room is disgusting and always looks like a trailer park threw up its "best & brightest" in the waiting room.

If its real serious, but not immediately life-threatening - get the HELL out of BG!

All hospitals have good and bad points..anywhere you go. Between the two hospitals here in town, Med Center is the busiest of the two. So yeah wait times will be longer, the clientele will be varied. I currently work at Med Center and have never heard people say dont go and ive taken care of several employees and people who are higher in the Bowling Green community. Not to mention but, we get people transferred from Greenview all the time because they just dont have the facility to take care of more life threatening problems or if you need to give birth. Greenview cant do open heart surgery, no ob/gyn department, if you have a cardiac cath and need intervention you have to come to med center. Now if you want to get in and out quickly then yeah go to Greenview and last time I was at Greenview the census was so low that whole floors were closed off.

Greenview doesn't have cardiac cath after hours, but they do have a cath lab that operates during normal business hours. If it's a weekend, and you think you're having a heart attack, MC is your best bet.

I would rather die on the medical centers doorstep than be taken into that joke of a hospital.

although green view does have a cath lab none of the cardiologists will do any interventions there...they go to med center and the cath lab is always on call after hours...so might as well just go to med center anyway...

Exactly. I don't know why they do caths there only to send them across or out of town for treatment.

I took my mom to medical center with pain in her back. I was answering the question because she was in so much pain an could pay attention to anyone. Because she didn't give them her attention, they started treating her for a stroke. They drugged her, admitted her in the hospital an said her file would go to a Dr. who will see her the next morning. The next day that Dr. came in and was update because she was NOT having a stroke. Medical Center made sure she paid that bill but never said it was their fault or credit her for their mistake.

if she was not talking or acting confused those are stroke signs. It is better to be ruled out than her having a major stroke and end up in a nursing home.
