I mean why are the views of people still so narrow? I have a good job nice house and kids are perfectly awesome. So why is it such a big deal. So I'm asking... Does smoking pot make you a bad parent? Intelligent responses please.

No, you're not a bad parent. Just make sure all your childrens' needs are taken care of before you spend money on weed. That means food, clothing, shoes, as well as their college fund. Also, I would smoke in private. You really don't want them telling mommy's business to people that have the authority to take them away from you. Most people theses days believe that weed is safer than alcohol, but it is still illegal. So, I don't think it's the smoking of the weed that people think is so bad. It's the legality of it. Good mommies should not do things that are illegal.

You're right about kids telling on you. You may think they don't catch on to a lot of things, but their minds are little recorders and playback can come at the WRONG time. And how does mommy explain why she got fired at work for testing positive in a random test?

You are engaging in an illegal activity. You are interacting with criminals as a result of it. You are wasting money that could be used to support your family and secure your family's future. You are putting your job (and family's financial stability) at risk. If you cannot or choose not to stop, you have a drug problem, in my opinion. And no matter how careful you think you are being, you are setting a bad example for your children. Before you know it, your kids will figure out what that smell lingering on your clothes is, why mommy acts spaced out or thinks everything is hysterical, and why mommy goes on eating binges. And you will wonder why your teenager is getting arrested and young college student is flunking out of school.

No, I have never known anyone who has "maturely" smoked weed. But even if one can smoke weed without getting stupid, every other point that I made is still true: it is illegal, people who smoke it are engaging with criminals, it is a waste of family money, it puts jobs at risk, and it is a bad example for kids who will find out. I think that the act of smoking weed itself shows a lack of maturity and bad judgment. I do not understand why any parent would put so much at risk to smoke some weed.

Because in Colorado Pot is a legal smoke now
Legal to smoke BUT not legal to have in your system in a drug free workzone job. You will still be subject to getting fired for a positive test and can get a DUI if involved in a traffic situation. The Feds still have pot classified as a CLASS I narcotic and Federal law overrides State laws. To be totally legal, laws will have to be changed in Washington DC,not by a Washington and Colorado vote.

For those who criticise. You may find that it heals you faster than any drug you buy at Walmart. Heals you from the inside out. Allows you to finally deal with your deepest painful memories and breathe for the first time since you were a kid.

You're not exactly setting the best example for your kids, but its not my place to judge you for it.

That won't be happening in either of our lifetimes. Look around - we practically have more churches than trees. Welcome to The Bible Belt.

I respect everyone's feelings. Always. But please be careful about having such a strong opinion about something you know little about. You may, in fact, be cheating yourself out of a better life.

Smoking pot is illegal in Kentucky. It is also a mind-altering drug. What would happen if one of your children got sick or hurt while you're high? Would you hop in your car and drive under the influence which could lead to some jail time that would make you have a permanent record! Same as driving while/after drinking, your judgement would be altered which would raise the risk of you being involved in an accident which could lead to your children or an innocent person being injured or killed! Do you need any more reasons why people think it's wrong to smoke weed? I can give you a few more.
