How To Talk Your Way Into a Cheaper Cable Bill

Call Insight and tell them to cut your crappy service off. Tell them you will not pay their high prices any more. Tell them one of your neighbors is getting a great deal, with more channels and services than you are, and is paying less money.

Tell them you want a customer care lead, or manager to speak to. They will put you in a much better package, they cannot and will not lose a customer....

Ask them for free channels as well.....

Ask them how long you will be in this special pricing, because they will go up eventually, and you will have to do this all over again....

Tell them Jerry Avery (Insight General Manager) told you to call them and ask for these promotions....

Just wait until Rick Williams becomes a city commissioner.....He'll do to us city-wide what he did to us for years and years as the GM of Insight Communications!!!

You're a joke. Rick Williams has nothing to do with insight and hasn't for the last 6 years. Jerry Avery is the GM now so if your cable bill is high, there ya go. Flappy....

Flappy, if you want to talk so bad, you mind to stop hiding behind a fake name and say your real name? What's your bone with mr. Williams anyhow?

Just an FYI, those signs of Ricks are being watched.. They are a piece of property and you can be taken to court.

I agree with Fappy and a lot of others that have posted about Rick Williams. He has not said a thing about what he sees for Bowling Green, its problems, or its over-taxation. It appears that he is running on his name alone. It's almost like he thinks e can win by having a name that people recognize, and recognize alone. Is he the Rick Williams who used to be the manager of Insight? If he is (and we know he is), then he has a lot to answer. For years, and I mean years, Insight, and its predecessor Storer Communications, have a history of poor service, poor channel offerings, and the highest rates. I remember when they would come before the local cable authority when asking for rate increases, they would always get them without objection from the board. It was so bad for a while that many here wanted another cable company but they cry fell on deaf ears with the city commission and the cable authority. Many even wanted BGMU to start a cable company like Glasgow did, but that idea was killed every time it rose by the city commission. Few that have been here for years and remember the growth of cable television here can say they actually liked the service we received or the honesty and fairness in business that we have received, received while Rick Williams was in charge. He was part of the "good old boy" system then with his connections with the city and the cable authority. Do we need this IN the government now?

Rick Williams signs and his website (has he even run any ads on TV?) say nothing about him or his goals or strategies about Bowling Green, nothing at all. I guess we are just supposed to vote for him....just because he IS Rick Williams, whoever that is???

As for those posting in his support, then defend him and tell what his platform is and what you actually know about him, and his past record. And for anonymous posts on here, it's interesting that "citzen" and "amy" posted at almost the same time....

I'll tell you what he stands for. He wants each and everyone's voice's heard in the Bowling Green area. I've known Rick for a long time and i know that he will go above and beyond to make sure that people are getting what they want and what they deserve. Rick is a hardworking man that puts his heart and soul into everything. His family are all good people, and i know they stand for what is right. Yes Rick is a Republican, but City commisioner is non-partician and their party has nothing to do with the decisions made in this city. The decisions are all about making this city a better, cleaner, place. Let's not forget that in the past one person that is running again (Slim) has used OUR tax dollars to build a skate park. That's exactly where i want my dollars going, NOT!

If you know anything about coorperations, then you know that Insight, TKR, and Storer Cable were all big coorperations and Rick had someone higher to answer to. When you are the manager of a coorperation you do not make the prices, you follow what the people above you are telling you that the prices and policies are. Let's say you're manager at the local Walmart...Their main office is not in BG, and neither were any of the cable companies. Do you get blamed when the prices at Walmart go up because you'r boss at coorperate makes them that way? NO! You complain to the big boss at Coorperate. So let me make this clear again, IT WAS NOT ANYONE IN BOWLING GREEN'S FAULT THAT THE PRICES AND POLICIES WERE THE WAY THEY WERE and they stand that way today even as Time Warner Cable has taken over. Jerry Avery ( the new GM ) still doesnt make all the rules, as the same as Rick didnt when he was GM. You want your cable bill to go down? switch to Direct TV and see how much you miss your cable when it rains. Let me also state that you are still complaining about the fact that your insight bill is high, Rick hasnt been there for over 5 years now, so obviously he wasnt the problem. IT'S A COORPERATION THING NOT A CITY THING!!!!!!
And you talk about your taxes being raised? Rick won't do that. He won't raise the taxes to build a freaking skate park when there are numerous ISSUES that need to be taken care of and they could've been taken care of with less tax money than it took to build the skate park.

Insight's franchise agreement is not exclusive and a competitor can come in and compete. No one is going to because the start up costs are too high and the market is too small.

How do you know he won't raise taxes? You his manager? And you gave one of the most vague set of promises that Rick will do whatever we want. What if we want different things? Just tell me what it is he wants to do.

I have to wonder whose life is so boring that they have nothing better to do than to watch campaign signs. I'm crying FOUL on that statement.

And as far as them being a piece of property, when his piece of property is on someone elses property, or on the the right of way side of the road or the corner, they cease to be his property anymore. Local and state ordinances prohibit the placement of signs on right of ways unless you get permission from said jurisdiction. It's hardly enforced, but it's still illegal.

Get your facts and information straight and you might get some creditability to your outrageous claims.

You people are worthless. Get off y'all's mommas tit and quit making things up on here. Who cares who the candidates are. I promise you don't have to talk about it on here, because its not going to accomplish anything.
