Great escape even stayed open! I'm sorry, but show some respect to the fellow employees who worked with this man. Anything to make a buck.
And shame on wbko. For over a week they talked more about a dog then anything else. I bet they won't even bring up this tragedy again. If it was a murder, the news needs to warn our community! And how can the police do a proper investigation with the business open!
Thoughts and prayers go out to the victim's family.
are you serious??? How low to stay open after a body has been found dead there ( no matter what the cause was).... Between the disrespect of the theater and the sorry news channel that reports the news this is the most disgusting thing i have heard. Not shutting down and not reporting...I feel so bad for this mans family. God be with them

When there is a lead on a case sometimes the police will not release all of the information they have. It will give the suspect a false sense of security and therefore may lead to a faster arrest and it will buy them more time to collect evidence, build their case. Providing too many details to the public could jeopardize this family ever getting any kind of legal justice in this tragedy.

WBKO does need to rephrase their story, something, because it's giving off a bad vibe.

Please stop saying this man committed suicide- none of the circumstances make that a plausible conclusion.
How do you know the circumstances? Were you there? I was with you until you wrote that last line and then you put yourself in the other posters' league.

It's in the daily news today that foul play is not suspected but has not been ruled out. Give WBKO a break, they did report the story right away but they are only allowed to give so much information out during an investigation.

Please pray for the family of Trent Buchanon. He was killed last night while leaving his job at Great Escape Theatre. He and his wife have a premature baby at Vanderbilt hospital. And today is his wife Shannon's birthday. An account will be set up at BB&T on Monday, so please, if you can help an abused dog, can you also help this lady who's life has been devastated.
I do pray for the family and friends as well as coworkers. I do wonder, if it was a robbery or if he did this himself. I would tend to think they must have found the gun and most of the time, a robber would not leave his gun at the scene.

Trent left behind his wife and one month old daughter who was born as a preemie and is at Vanderbilt. She isn't scheduled to come home for at least another month. His wife is going through a really tough time right now and needs all the prayers and help she can get. An account has been opened at all local BB&T banks to help them out, so please take a little bit of time out of your day and donate to them. It should be under her name, Shannon Buchanan.

Foul play is very much suspected. You would think journalists would do a better job of checking their info before writing three sentences on such a tragedy as this. He had reported to the police a few days prior of someone trying to break in. Absolutely nobody who knows him thinks this is anything but foul play. He just had a baby girl and would never ever leave them in this way.
This is absolutely 100% correct.

Lawyer- you took the words right out of my mouth.. this is not a suicide.. it clearly states that the body was found outside the theater next to his car. That doesn't lend to a suicide-

I live within 1/2 mile of the theater. I agree that WBKO is somewhat lacking in their reporting, however, WNKY is neighbors with the theater and they haven't reported anything! They don't even have a real Facebook page (other than for weather) to get more casual news updates. They do have a Facebook page for their weather dog -- give me a f*cking break!

This was no suicide I know the family. Let's have some respect for him. It was his wife's birthday as well. There is no way he would ever do this to himself.

The family are the one's instigating the media hype. Talk to them.

There was a post looking fr assistan manager, if he was main manager an he knew something was gonna happen, assistant manager of his would move up to his spot and then there would be an opening for assistant manager. Strangeeee

Keep in mind that the poster of that thread stated "assistant manager" position but the body found was the general manager.
If he knew wouldn't the assistant manager move up to his spot an that would be opening up the assistant manager spot?

Just because they find a body doesn't make it suicide or murder. For all you people know he could have had a heart attack or a stroke and dies of natural causes. That would explain the fact that they don't suspect foul play. He could have had a heart attack on his way to his car. If you don't know, then don't assume.

He was shot to death.

"The Bowling Green Police Department is investigating the shooting death of Trent Buchanan, 23, of Bowling Green, who was found shot to death Sunday morning near his car at the Great Escape Theatre Bowling Green 12 at 323 Great Escape Court, according to BGPD spokesman Officer Ronnie Ward.

Police do not suspect foul play, Ward said today."
