Today's paper says an employee was stealing pills from walgreens, but no name is listed. I wonder if it was Management, or someone in their pharmacy, or if it was just some low level employee? I wonder why they withheld the name, and do they not drug test their employee's. How does this happen? BTW it was the one on Nashville Rd. http://www.bgdailynews.com/articles/2011/07/2...

The police didn't release the employee's name. Is it any of your business?

It looks like they busted your hookup. If you need to know the person's name they will tell you.

busted my hookup? Wtf does that even mean? What I'm curious to know is how this happens WHERE I get my prescriptions filled? This is the kind of thing that gets passed down to customers in a business's pricing, so I don't understand why they wouldn't have taken to proper precautions to prevent it. I don't know what your problem is, unless it was YOU who did it, in which case I hope LRN stands for something besides anything in the medical field. Do you think they are gonna sweep that thousand some odd dollars under the rug? Hardly, they'll make sure somebody pays, to which I doubt it will be the skanky louse who did it. A thief loses his privacy when other people have to pay for it. I see myself switching pharmacies very soon. Oh, and that chip, the one on your shoulder, you might wanna get that fixed.

This could happen at any pharmacy at anytime. I dont care where you go, there is always , and I mean always and employee at any establishment that is crooked. Look around, the world is falling apart, you cant trust anyone, and it is a damn shame. I remember I had to go buy some Claratin at the beginning of springtime because of allergies and they treated me like a damn criminal (methmaker), and here they were probably the one stealing the damn pills! Makes no damn sense, like I said, you cant trust anyone, and this is for CURIOUS, you hit the nail on the head, couldnt have said it better myself

Yeah whatever. Any retail establishment has loss issues. You heard about this one. You don't hear about most. Your co-pay won't go up. Please cut the drama. It is an internal loss issue at a retail store not someone stealing your identity.

Copay? Aren't we arrogant assuming everyone has insurance? Actually you must have something vested in this to be even commenting, which makes me wonder ... Anywho, since you're not Mandy there, trying to slander someone's name by making it your handle, you must know something or be close to the situation somehow. And besides monetary loss, aren't you the least bit worried that events like these continue for months without anyone noticing? I'm surprised that you almost seem defensive of the person who did this.

You make a lot of stupid assumptions. Whoever did this should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. It's a big enough deal to you that you started the discussion about it. Do you have a dog in this fight? I don't.

All retail businesses have to contend with internal loss. Even Walgreens.

I really dont think there are any precautions that would have kept this from happening!! Yes there are things they could do to try and prevent it, but if someone wants something bad enough, they will get it! If this person is addicted to painpills, then they will find a loophole through all of the precautions to get what they want!
You have doctors who are addicted to drugs, what kind of precautions could prevent them from getting high on opiates or benzos, its just not possible ? You have police officers addicted to drugs! There is no way that you can cover every little detail to keep this from happening. Its sad, but it is the truth

Went to pick up medication yesterday for my father and the Hydrocodone was 10 pills short! Called and spoke to pharmacy manager and she said we do not make mistakes like that here.. I simply asked her if she could do a recount and let us know before her shift ended she said she would do that.. yet it is the next day no call nothing... They are not God and are not above making mistakes.. Two months ago went to get the same medication and brought it to my father and there was a bottle of liquid that was supposed to be hydrocodone pills and the label read ...get this.... Take 1 tablet every 6 to 8 hours.. Ok, Like he told them am I supposed to take this liquid that clearly is someones elses medication and produce my own pills?? The lady in the pharmacy told my father we don't carry hydrocodone pills anymore.. Which in fact was a lie cause that day I went back and another gentleman took the bottle of liquid and filled the script with the pills.. Not even a sorry bout that or anything.. My father have severe COPD,and is on breathing machine..Not to mention the fact he had just had major cancer surgery and had to have prostate and bladder removed.. I tried to explain to them with him being elderly what if he had took this medication and died over the fact that the pharmacy DOES make mistakes how would they have felt if it was their parent and a mistake killed their family member?? So Walgreens please spare me the BS that you do not make mistakes when it comes to medication...And now my father will have to go three days without his pain medication because you do not make mistakes..HMM wonder who has the problem at that location with drug dependency?? With this being said we will now change pharmacy for better more accurate employees that finished the first grade and know how to count!!

her name is mandy burden and what she said happened to her is the truth...husband and baby daughter killed in car accident!!!! she went spiraling down in a world of drugs to numb the pain. she has a beautiful daughter that she lost custody of and the whole story is a very sad but true one. she did work at walgreens for a day and a half and did steal the pills. so you got what you wanted to know and more, happy now. with all her problems and issues she was telling the truth and not sugar coating anything. even admitted drugs were more important to her than cortany. i know this because i am a teacher and had cortany in class...cortany is the real victim here. where has the compassion of the human race gone?
