Why has none of the local news (Daily Snooze **AKA Daily News**or WBKO) mentioned the ride accident that happened on Saturday?

My Step-father had to go to the hospital because of a work accident. Urgent Care called the Medical Center and they advised him to go to Greenview because there were five abulances coming in from Beech Bend. I'm curious as to what happened as well.

Medical Center does not turn away anyone. Why would Urgent Care call the Medical Center and they tell a patient to go to Greenview. Besides, abulances is spelled ambulances.

They just suggested that they go to Greenview becuase some of the chord from the shock drop broke and injured some of the riders. No one's legs got caught off like at Kentucky Kingdom but some people did get injured and the Medical Center was about to get extremly busy!

my father was admitted at the medical center saturday night and there were alot of ppl there from beech bend. They had said that a cable broke on one of the rides. I wondered why i hadn't seen it on the news either.

Beech Bend likely handled it quickly so no one would say anything. I'm sure everyone that got hurt entered the ambulance with a blank check. Lol!

I sent wbko a message asking them why it was not covered, and I understand accidents happens, but if they are trying to be all secretive I am definitely cancelling my trip with my kiddos on Saturday and am gonna head to Kings Island

The accident wasn't an accident in the sense of the word as you might think.

For those that are familiar with the Shock Drop, the contraption that lifts it up to the top malfunctioned but it was after the riders had been dropped and it (the contraption - sorry don't know the exact name of the part) was coming back down by itself.

It rattled and shook as it came back down but did not injure anyone. Some people literally got shook up and as a precaution they were taken for medical care.

I was in line to get on so yes I know what I am talking about.

It wasn't on the news because it wasn't newsworthy. I swear some of you all are so paranoid thinking something is being kept from you all that you need to know about so you can get even more paranoid and delusional.

Your kids will be just as safe at Beech Bend as they will be at Kings Island. Quit being such a paranoid and over protective parent. Parents like you are the ones that end up having kids that are complete trouble makers. Put a wall around em and they tear it down along w/ every other thing in their way. You will more than likely encounter more danger on the road trip to Kings Island than you will at the bend.

Im by far a protective parent.....I have 4 daughters , so I have no time to be over protective..
I really dont see anything wrong with trying to find out what happened, rumors spread through this town like wilfire, so of course I had heard 20 diffrent dtories and I knew if the news aired it I would find out the truth....
By the way, why such a smartass? Have some kids, maybe they will cheer you up

Im in no way trying to be a smartass. Just trying to say the right things to get in your head. I'm glad you are protective. Just don't be crazy overprotective. I just feel that everyone is always trying to find a problem w/ something here in BG close to home. All amusement parks eventually have an accident of some kind. There's no need to worry unless it's an occurring problem. I'm tired of everyone always trying to say that someone is using their big money to protect and cover things up. People are haters. Don't find out what is safe for your children by looking at threads on topix. Thanks for caring about your children though. A lot of people are dead beats now a days and expect some one else to

Listen bitch - for you to make assumptions as to whether or not I have kids is farrrr beyond your scope of knowledge and has no bearing on the thread at hand. Having kids or not has nothing to do with the facts.

Your posts shows that you nothing more than a paranoid busy body who thinks everyone is keeping things from you. Is it Beech Bends responsibility to report any and everything to WBKO so that that "most accurate" joke of a news organization can either put their spin on it or flat out get the story wrong? Hell, they can't even keep a signal going during a wind storm. People who tune to places like that,(Daily News as well) are so gullible believing any and every thing that is told to them. Not saying they might not be somewhat accurate sometime, but quit being such a damn pansy. Either look for the truth yourself by asking someone who was there - Hey did you ever think about calling them and asking for yourself. Even though I was there, I decided to do just that. And guess what.. they told me exactly what I posted earlier. How about that!!!

But no, it's much easier for you to sit on the computer and believe everything that you see and read. Advice to follow: Half of what you read is about half true. The other half is suspect. It isn't because there is some big conspiracy out there - it's because we are human and each of us brings our own interpretations and slant on what we put out there and how we interpret things.

So go take your kids to Kentucky Kingdom or wherever in the hell you were going and leave the truth finding to those with a bit of common sense.
