It is a nice school.
Growing pains, but transition never easy.
Good support from staff and parents.
Lots of challenges out there...

Issues with the school?!?!? Go volunteer out there or mentor a kid and help fix the problem rather than complain about it. Walk in their shoes and then you can moan, gripe, whine.

i have worked there as asst teacher! Thanks for your concern about me thought. Sweet kids but limited sources. If they would have spent half the money on education sources, as they did on remodeling the school, might have turned out a little better for the kids!

Yeah, because the old run-down dark and dank school building they had before was really working for everyone. You do realize that any child with physical special needs (wheelchair) had to be bussed to Bristow because the old school building had no wheelchair access. With the low average socio-economic status for the students at that school, I believe that were well-deserving of a new building. Furthermore, funding is provided to schools for particular areas, for example building/maintenance, educational materials, etc. The teachers there are wonderful and caring and do so much to provide what they can for those students.

One more thing, the school can spend as much as they want on educational resources, however many students will still go home to very resources. Schools can only provide so much.

I had a very good experience with the school there when I lived in that district. As I have now moved to Allen County, I find myself proofreading the teacher's bulletins and sending them back to them. They had a much better education there. People need to realize this starts at home as well. Children need to have social skills and behavioral skills somewhat developed as well so they can transition into a more conducive environment. The unruliness effects everyone there as well as their learning environment. Step up parents, teachers aren't just babysitters! They have to love what they do for the pay they receive!

I, too, have had a positive experience with the school. I have a lot of respect for many of the teachers and staff, as they have done so much for some people very close to me. Many of the teachers are so much more than teachers to the children.
