"Curious", it really just depends on the situation. When I think of who the "best" lawyer is, I have to factor in all of the many issues that may be involved. If you are going to have a highly contested divorce with issues such as child support, custody, visitation, property division (assets and debts), spousal maintenance, etc., you are going to need one of the higher dollar attorneys (Joy Denton, Steve Thornton, etc.). If you and your soon-to-be ex-spouse can agree on many of the issues above, then you can get the exact same output while saving yourself a ton of money. Thus, determining who the "best" lawyer is depends on the complexity of the case and the money you are willing to pay your lawyer. That said, just because you pay more, that does not necessarily mean better results.

Rebecca Simpson is a b****. It takes days for her to return calls or e-mails. She's rude and disrespectful. She's not a terrible attorney, but if you're going through Legal Aid in Warren County, she's the only attorney that handles divorces - which is a joke. I also heard Steve Thornton and Joy Denton are the best attorneys if you have any money. Steve Downy is actually the best attorney in town and the best one I have ever seen in my life. He handled my grandfather's medical case and did awesome and actually did my uncle's divorce and made the opposing attorney look stupid. He is a pit bull, but he doesn't really do divorces anymore - unfortunately.

Well I want a divorce but my husband refuses. We were only married 2 months. He's already engaged to a mutual friend of ours. I've offered to pay for all of it and everything and he refuses to sign. Any suggestions? I'm lost and I don't even know where to start. We don't have Amy kids, property etc. So there's no fighting over anything.

Your obviously lying about something. If he's engaged to someone else, why would he be refusing to sign the papers.

You can't get an annulment unless it was an illegal marriage ie cousins, bigamy, etc.

He doesn't have to sign any papers. Just file the divorce, wait for the 20 days to run on his filing a response, and then file for a default judgment. It's simple. Why would someone get engaged to someone else yet refuse to sign divorce papers. Is he Mormon?

Not true dipsh*t. Annulment covers MANY reasons and is more so based on LENGTH of marriage rather than a specific REASON.

And not I'm not an attorney but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

Well technically in Kentucky, you have to be separated for 6 months before you can file for a divorce. And your husband does not technically have to sign the papers. He just has to be aware that you are divorcing him and have proof. You can send certified mail or even send a sheriff which in your case would be best since he is refusing to sign. And as for "good" lawyers in Kentucky, I have no idea. You can go to google if needed and research stuff like this for Kentucky. Please reply back if you have any other questions.

No, I am afraid I am correct on this issue. You could have at least done a google search to verify this before trying to argue with me.

You don't have to be separated for 6 months to file. There's a 6 month waiting period for the divorce to be granted if there are children from the marriage. If you file and he refuse to sign, after 2 years, it must be granted.

This is the correct info. I confused 6 months. I meant 2 months separation and 6 months living in Kentucky.
