checkout graigslist.com just a suggestion though, don't know what you have for sale.

the daily news is outrageously expensive. try the country peddler. its a lot cheaper and gets to more people since it's free.

Let's see. I own a business and I think I need to advertise. But I'm not sure. Where, oh where, shall I turn for advice? If only there were an on-line community of advertising experts I could ask. Oh, wait, there is! It's the Topix board!

I'm sure the advice you get here will be worth exactly what you pay for it.

First of all, it's Craigslist, not Graigslist. If you are going to suggest something for someone, at least spell it correctly.

More people read the Daily News and you can read it online for free. Our Peddler goes straight to the trash every week. I don't know anyone who reads it. Daily News advertisement is better and will reach more. You get what you pay for.

You're right you get what you pay for - I'm glad advice is FREE because you are way off base. Country Peddler is particularly strong in the areas of market saturation (50% more than Daily News) and readership. After 37 years, Country Peddler remains the most cost effective print media for the price per home coverage.

i agree with lucky lady! words must work for the daily news or knows someone that does. i get the daily news on weekends for 2 reasons:engagments and weddings and the sales papers. otherwise it's useless to me.

Yes 'Words', it is www.craigslist.com not with a 'G'. Sorry for the typo.

Not if you are trying to sell a later model car or truck, especially one that has a higher ticket price!!

I never read The Country Peddler. Depending on what business you have, you have different options.

The Main places to advertise with are:

BG Daily News
The Country Peddler
Clip It

These are for just in market reach though. All of them produce substantial copies, though Daily News produces the most. No one can really dictate readership for any of them. It's just a fancy word to make them seem important. What you have to look at is exactly how many and how far of the reach each have. I would assume that BG Daily News is going to cost more but that is because you are getting more out there with them.

If you are trying to reach even further you have...

The Peddler (Clarksville/Hopkinsville Based)
KY Auto and RV (Mainly for Auto dealers, if the name doesn't tell you that, but ironically, you can advertise Homes, and other odds and ends in this magazine, and is distributed state-wide and for a pretty good price.)

But really, it goes back to saying who you are trying to reach, what you're selling, what is in your budget, etc. I would say "I don't read the Country Peddler", but that doesn't mean the next person doesn't. If you don't have the money to spend for the BG Daily News cause it's pricey, I would still suggest investing your money in any of the other names I mentioned because it is still a step forward in getting your name out there to your potential customers. You're not purposely hiding from them, are ya?

If you are going to give advice, you should have the facts! The Country Peddler is delivered in Bowling Green, Warren Co., and the 7 surrounding counties. These counties have families with at least 1 member going to school, or working in Warren Co. or the city of B.G. which gives them acess to your business at least 5 days a week. The Daily News is only delivered in these places if it is ordered and paid for. When you divide the price of an ad by the circulation number, that should tell you all you need to know. The Country Peddler proudly advertises their circulation numbers of 34,466.
