I was there last year, forklift ops started at 10.83 and maybe after 400 loads, perfect attendance, perfect record, they may bump you to 11.77. Also helps who you know/blow. Order puckers start at 10.03/hour, no bumping till raise time. 20% raise, you'll be making 10.23/hour after 6 months.( if they still give the 6 month raise for new hires?), otherwise you'll have to wait a year.

So imagine you make 10.50 after being there almost two years, after taxes and insurance your check sucks as bad as sun products!

Remember they have a rule, absolutely no tobacco use of any kind on company, yes that includes inside your car. When I was there they were going to tell truck drivers they can't smoke in their own rigs!, no matter how long they have to be there. I know many whse workers sneak in between parked trailers to smoke and some try in the r

My super was corrupt, a liar, punisher. Constantly writing someone up. A man who had been there over 10 years got transferred to our dept, never had a write up..till he got to our dept. He complained to hr, was fired in a few weeks, he was getting old, slow and they wanted him gone. Sun cares nothing about 99.9% of their employees

That's why it takes sooooo long to top out. Most never make it that long and management knows that! You'll get fired or forced away, that's where the large turnover rate comes in...

They like the constant hiring, keeps hr dorks and the training jerks in a job. Also keeps payroll lower and most never qualify for fmla. That's why they have to advertise more than any other company in bg history to get employes.

90 percent hate the place but any will never say anything because their afraid of being fired.

I just applied for the machine operator job posting on Monster.

I've never worked in a factory before. Mostly just customer service and overnight stock jobs at retail stores, so it's totally foreign to me. Any experiences or comments on being a machine operator at Huish?

sun products is really going downhill im sorry to put it like this but you probably wont get the job they turn down a lot of people who dont have experience in a factory
and a couple of years ago a couple of rich folks bought it out and said they were going to turn and burn it to see how much they could make things are fast right now but it's only a matter of time until that place goes to crap

Sun has already went to crap. They have to use EVERYWAY imaginable to get new employees, I also seen them posting at monster for maintenance. When I was in whse, the word was bill mock Jr was running everyone out of maintenance because he was such an asshole, like his dad, the whse supervisor in Franklin.
Sun is not the largest employer in bg, the medical center is. Sun is the largest user/abuser of temps since they hate families.
Vestar owns sun, they are like bain capital, they trim and find ways to make the company more profitable then sell. Even if it means slowly replacing everyone with temps or new hires that make less.
I hope a rich, gay, asshole from India buys sun and pistol whips all management and half the khaki wearers after forcing all of them into gay sex, we'll most of them would probably like that.

Well you all can quit complaining now. We are getting our bonus and there's nothing more to say accept that sun products is by far the best place in BOwlinggreens to work for they take good care of all of us you should be grateful.
