Unions are out to get money for themselves. They don't care about helping you. Do your research.

Unions, were originally designed to better working conditions for employees. Whether that be physical conditions, beneficial conditions, or wages.
Currently in our economy, the unions that are still around, have ran themselves into the grounds, and gave up their rights, and shot themselves in the foot.

A few years ago we tryed to get one at manga, they came down from ford and up north. we had meeting after meeting got everything ready, had people signing papers saying they wanted a union, when it came time to vote they said they were going to postpone it.they hung the ones who were pushing it, out to dry.we all think they were payed big money to postpone it. I will never again try to get one in. U.A.W. SUCKS.

We need a union at Lord for the simple fact that some of us have to work for that dick Mike McCrory. He continues to do dumb shit and treat us bad. No matter how much we complain, no one does anything to him. By no one i mean Donna Payne and Tommy Kirby. They protect him instead of doing their damn job and repremanding him. Anywhere else would have kicked him out on his ass. Lack of support from HR, Donna Payne is reason alone for us to be union.

A Union is not going to get rid of McCrory dumbass! Thats not what they do. You've never worked with a union or you'd know that!! If they wanted a union they would've gotten one years ago because 75% of the people there have been there over 15 years! If you don't like working there FIND YOURSELF ANOTHER FREAKIN JOB!!!

Yeah, the union really works good...look at GM!!! Here's a classic example of a company that is non-union...Toyota. Do you really think Lord Bowling Green would remain open if a labor union was instituted??? No way. Lord would sell off the industrial division since it is the least contributor to profit margin.

Most of uneducated America thinks as you do. Let me attempt to enlighten you about Unions. My Dad worked for GM for 39 years and was a proud union man. Can you believe in 39 years he was never invited to one board meeting? The workers of GM didn't run the company into the ground, the Board of Directors, each earning over $2 million dollars per year ran the company into the ground. GM knew for decades they were building an inferior product, but failed to make any change due to record profits. Of course GM is back on the block again, building INCREDIBLE vehicles, 2010 Motor Trend car of the year award, engine warranties for 100,000 miles and incentives that Toyota, Nissan, KIA cant even touch.
The Government bailed GM out, loaned them $25 Billion dollars and guess what? IT WORKED! The loan has been paid back in full, not even a year later and 3 million U.S. Jobs were saved. GM is back on the DOW being traded at over $34 per share. I can't understand why people were pissed about the Fed loaning GM $25 billion, which stated again, has already been paid back, while the Republican party under the WORST President in U.S. history, George W. got us into a winless war in which we have lost over 5,000 American live's and has cost us over $1.2 TRILLION Dollars. That comes out to about $4,000 per Every American. Talk about a waste.
Unions FORCE employers to pay a living wage. I feel bad for the walmart workers. Walmart made $274 Billion last year and pay their employees $8 per hour. Walmart needs to unionize and they would be earning $12-$14 per hour. Would Walmart shut down, or would prices go up? Hell no, what would happen is, top management getting a $500,000 Christmas bonus would probably only get a $50,000 bonus! Instead of earning $274 Billion per year, they would probably only earn a lousy $250 Billion?
Management use a "Scare Tactic" in the south and tell you that Unions are bad and will cost you your job. Of course they are going to tell workers that. If they have to pay you more it takes away from their profits, bonuses, salaries. People that work for Unions earn a great living.
UNIONS WORK! Teachers, nurses, airline pilots, factory workers, truck drivers, hell pro sports! Wake up Kentucky! Sick of living pay check to paycheck? UNIONIZE, get what is rightfully yours!!!

You said it brother. Take away from corporate greed! Why should management earn $60,000 per year, while the worker makes $10 per hour? Workers need to organize and make a better living for their families! If we ALL bought only U.S, made goods, this country would prosper like crazy.

Union Yes, you sir are either ill-informed or a liar. GM HAS NOT paid back the government!! GM paid back 5.9 BILLION of the 25 BILLION. THAT's IT. They are only 19 Billion short Einstein.

I love how you talk about "bonuses" and the rich man. Do you realize the Chairman of the local UAW at corvette ( who knows what the duties of this job are) makes over $150,000? And the President of the local makes over $125,000? Wow I'm sure you are up in arms over that.

Thanks for the liberal bent on the war. You got what you want. Your union spent 200 Million dollars on the last presidential election. Thanks alot d-bag. You really love America.

1.8 TRILLION dollar deficit. The entire debt of our 225 year history of our country doubled in 18months. Keep blaming Bush.

And one more thing, the 20 directors of GM's board made 2 million each? Perhaps they did. That's 40 million. The companies union tab was over 77% of expenses!!! No way will GM ever repay ME, it's my taxes that obama used to prop up the Union.

And one more thing, it's not "rightfully yours". Here's the deal, you either own a company or work for one. If you work for one and don't like it or aren't paid enough, LEAVE.

NO ONE OWES YOU A DAMN THING.

Someone is confused here. Line workers at GM start out at $28/hour. Earning 55-60k just starting out.
