The National Corvette Museum is planning to build a race track. We aleady have too much noise polution in BG. It will have 30-40 cars running at the same time. They plan to operate it during the week as well as on weekends. Call your city councilman, the mayor, your magistrate, state senator, state representative or your lawyer. STOP the new racetrack NOW!! The only people that will benefit from this track are the motel and restaurant owners, and of course the museum, not the citizens of BG.

Well let's see the citzens of BG would benifit by the tourism revenue for these races, not to metion the taxes, or the jobs.

"The National Corvette Museum is planning to build a race track. We aleady have too much noise polution in BG."

A track 100 feet away from I-65 won't add more noise there than there already is.

"It will have 30-40 cars running at the same time. They plan to operate it during the week as well as on weekends"

30 - 40 cars on weekdays will never happen, ever. On weekends maybe 15 - 20 at one time, and most will be driven to the track, not trailer-ed, and won't be any noisier than other street driven cars.

"Call your city councilman, the mayor, your magistrate, state senator, state representative or your lawyer."

Just what we need, more government intervention in our lives.

"STOP the new racetrack NOW!! The only people that will benefit from this track are the motel and restaurant owners, and of course the museum, not the citizens of BG"

And we all know that restaurants, hotels, and the museum don't have employees, or use electricity or water, or need other commodities to conduct business, lets just shut them all down now and enjoy the peace and quiet.

I hope they get it. I've been trying to talk Beech bend into opening an autocross track.

I hope they build clubhouse garages you can rent or buy. I'll have one.

The noise will not bother anyone unless you live in the apartments directly next to I65.

A race track beats the hell out of a ball park. No matter what the city does some one will always complain.

An autocross "track" is just a big open space of concrete or pavement, and the Bend has that. they just charge too much to use it. I've been autocrossing for 13 years around here and I tried to get Beach Bend to rent their pavement for a reasonable price but I failed, and our SCCA region even carries their own insurance for the events (5 Mill worth).

One of the primary reasons for this type of road course is so that people can SAFELY drive their cars at high speeds and not do it on roads.

These are NOT extremely noisy, suped up cars and will be no different than the interstate noise. This track is nothing like what Beech Bend offers and will not even have the large spectator type of events.

The facility will also offer drivers' safety education courses for young people to learn to drive in a safe environment.

Do your homework. And by the way, the Mayor and other officials are very much for this type of facility. The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety has even signed on to be a strategic partner.

Wooooow! Somebody has peed in your oatmeal! Are you against it just because it's something you don't participate in or you just one of those against anything that's not your cup of tea so you feel no one should have a place to enjoy. Wouldn't you be happier living way back up in the hills away from civilization?

Really? That's interesting. I mean the part that it wouldn't benefit the citizens of Bowling Green. It's called economic impact, do the people that work in and own the hotels and restaurants not live in Bowling Green? Also, the money that is brought to the area by Beech Bend alone saves each tax paying family in Warren Co. an average of $250/year on their taxes. The National Corvette Museum brings in as many or more people than Beech Bend so guess what, it too have direct positive impact on the citizens of Bowling Green.

I think a track would be very interesting for tourists to come and tour and spend their money here. I know most people would not consider the corvette a track worthy car, but perhaps this would allow them their own place to run without being embarrassed all the time. At least they are trying, which is more than most of KY can say.

Bring on the track. It would be awsome if they would build it so you could run sportbikes on it as well.

This has been in the works for almost 5 years. Im sure this thread got started by someone who works Dallas Jones. He is such a crook, he'd screw anyone outta money. I know this personally. This town would benefit greatly from a professional race park. Hope it goes through.
