what kind of Christmas help are you looking for? I know how you feel and the boat you are in. My husband is disabled, but has not yet been granted disability. My daughter is autistic, but since she is almost 17 years old, she doesn't qualify for a lot of the programs like that. I work, even though my doctor has told me I'm disabled, but it takes all I have and then we still fall short on groceries and some bills at times. I'm constantly juggling them just to get by.

We can't really even help ourselves very much, but I will keep my ears open and ask around to some people I work with if they know of anything like that. Are you looking just for a food basket or what?

slong, I certainly understand your dilema. For Christmas, I have always had to depend on the bonus we get from work. We found out just a few weeks ago, that our pay structure was changing and now those bonuses are gone. I have 1 autistic child
at home to buy for, and 1 grandchild with this being her first real Christmas that she will be able to open presents. So, I too now have no idea what we are going to do. We have been put in such a pickle because of that, my husbands heart medicines alone that AREN'T on the $4.00 prescription plan, will still run $400-$500 a month. I have no idea how we are going to pull that off much less buy Christmas. So I feel for you. I wish you the best of luck. God Bless!

Contact the Salvation Army. Either them or Community Action will have a day for you to sign up. They have a master list to prevent people from going from one place to another and signing up for more than they actually need. I'm not saying you would do this, but many do, so if everybody registers at one place, they can keep track to make the organizations that want to help be able to help more people.

If your daughter is autistic, there are plenty of programs out there for your family. Start with her school, they should have a lot of info for you.

Do you belong to a church? If not, you might want to begin to attend one. I don't mean go to one and ask for help for Christmas, I mean get involved, give the gifts you and your family have and others will return those gifts in many ways.
