Has anyone been to Dr. Newell or Dr. Jones? Just wondering who I should see about a skin cancer screening.

My husband has seen Dr Jones and she is very nice and very thorough.

I don't know about Dr. Jones. I have been to Dr Tim Hulsey and he is great. Dr Newell is a rip off. I was suppose to have a free screening from my insurance co with no co-pay. He just look at me and said I needed to come back. When I went back I was charged 2 co-pays. He is in it just for the money. My insurance co was charged twice. Stay away from him.

that Newell was set to retire soon, but can't confirm that to be true. There are several new dermatologists coming to bg...one is building an office behind La Petite. I think his wife is an ob maybe? The clinic has a few new ones too. Hulsey is a plastic surgeon; not a dermatologist.

Dr. Hulsey also does skin cancer screenings, which is what I had. He also plays a mean guitar. And he is a real nice man and very talented.

Dr. Fairhurst is not here in town anymore. He left for a while then was in Franklin one day a week. I don't think he does that anymore either. Last I heard his practice was only in TN. He is a great dermatologist though. I took my son to him several times; he's a good person too.

Dr. Hulsey rocks. After a very serious accident he repaired my face to the point where the scars are all but invisible. Many doctors have stated that any other surgeon would have left me horribly disfigured. Should you need any surgical procedures done on your skin, please see him.

I have had encounters with Newell over the years and he is such an arrogant a** and thinks he is extremely special. He is all about the money and does not seem to care if patients get better so they will keep coming back to get more office visits(money).

I have seen Dr. Newell several times through the years and he is a great Doctor that knows what he is doing!! I don't see how you people can say he is arrogant because what I see is a man that knows what he is doing! Maybe if you all would get your head out of you butt then you would see what talent he does have and hes not in it for the money he is in it to fix the problem you are having and help you in anyway possible. Dr.Newell is a well educated man and if you go to him you can see for yourself!!

I have never heard of any doctor's office that gives FREE cancer screenings. If you were supposed to have a free screening through "your insurance" then you should have discussed with your insurance before seeing the doctor. Your an idiot for thinking you could get seen for free. And your lucky it was just a copay and not more....like a skin cancer!!!

The only problem with him is being in and out of rehab and I prefer to have a stable derm.

Dr Zaydon removed some moles for me that were possibly cancerous and did a great job. Just saw dr granese a few weeks ago for acne and she seemed to be iffy about what she was doing. She did not fix my problem with an infected pimple and will end up goin back to dr jones instead.

first of all, Dr Hulsey and Dr. Granese are NOT dermatologists. Dr. Hulsey is a plastic surgeon and they get very little to no training in skin related issues. And Dr. Granese is a pathologist who studied skin pathology. She is NOT even close to being a dermatologist. What she is doing (posing as a dermatologist seeing acne an such) will eventually get her and Graves Gilbert clinic in trouble. She is NOT a dermatologist. Knows nothing about taking care of patients with skin issues. Graves Gilbert motto, "your health, our priority." Yeah right! We they schedule you for a visit with their "dermatologist" Dr. Granese, ask for her credentials in taking care of patients. Did she complete training as a dermatologist? The answer is no. Scary that Graves Gilbert would do this but they have done it before. Remember Dr. Doshi. They billed him as a "dermatologist" too. He had not even trained in dermatology at the time he was seeing patients. I know all this because I used to work at Graves Gilbert and would NEVER trust them to take care of my skin.

Do you know anything about Dr. Esche? My face has gotten worse since seeing granese. Wish I would have know this about her before I went there.

First, "old graves gilbert worker", you are right about Dr. Granese. Major, major fraud there. Lawsuit waiting to happen. You are, however, wrong about Dr. Doshi. Dr. Doshi is/was a dermatologist during his stay at GGC, continues to further himself and is regardless, way too good for GGC. And, I agree with some of the other posters, Dr. Newell is a major @&^*!!!

Dr. esche is the german dermatologist. He trained in dermatology but heard he cannot pass his dermatology board exam. One of my previous co-workers said he failed 2 times or more. He worked at GGC too. See the connection. GGC employeed dr. esche, dr. doshi and now dr. granese. Their track record speaks for itself.
