So this is the worst station I have EVER heard! All the local shows suck now! Brandenburg left, Brandon Phillips moved to 1450, Morning VIP replaced all the regular hosts with 3 morons, NORM HANEY IS SOMEHOW STILL ON AIR, and his pleb ERIC MATTHEWS IS STILL GIVING THE AIRWAVES CANCER WITH HIS STUPIDITY!

The only local show worth a hoot is a stupid show about WRESTLING!

If it wasn't for the Hot Rods I wouldn't know how that station makes any money!

How does management let this go on? Since the first of March it has been hard to listen at all! Thank God we live close to Nashville!

Surely you don't hate ERIC THE RED?!?!? Bleh. It's always been kind of middle of the road, but it is definitely getting worse. If it wasn't for Dan Patrick, I don't think I'd listen at all these days.

I only listen for the Hot Rods. I don't know what the rest of the lineup is like, but I like the baseball.

The station doesn't bother me at all. I enjoy some of the interviews Norm has on the show. I never really listened to Morning VIP unless I was up and driving on Saturday mornings. Ross stayed on the show after the girl and Patrick left. I am friends with someone who works at another station in the same building and apparently he quit the show last month because he found out he has cancer or something like that. Hope that's not the case; he seemed like a good guy, as do the rest of the people that work there. Can't expect much out of sports radio when the only sport going on is baseball.

Morning VIP is a joke... The afternoon show is just as bad... This BC guy they added is horrible, his voice reminds you of a game-show host...

All three of the original VIP crew left 1340...obviously for good reasons. Last I heard Ms. Brooks and Patrick were working in Minor league baseball somewhere and Ross is still in radio/news or something of that nature.

No doubt that station definitely went downhill after those 3 left. They were the only ones to go out on a limb and try something new, glad they are all better off now!

I like "Sports Guys", but I wish they would worry more about Ken McDonald and less about Calipari.

The station is in BG, not LEX!!!!!!!!!!

My God, these people drive me nuts, they talk about everything except WKU! Every once in a while they talk Tops! When they do, it's good, they just don't do it enough!!!!!

But, as much as I wish they would give a little bit of a crap about the Tops, I like them. Sports Guys do a good job, but sometimes it seems they are more worried about entertaining each other, and making each other laugh, and less worried about the on-air product. I mean, when they are funny, they hit home runs. When they aren't, it's bad.

I'll keep listening though, and call in every 2 weeks and speaking my peace about the Tops.

1340 sorta puts WKU on the back burner because 1450 WWKU has the Tops as their main attraction. Sports Guys leaves something to be desired, especially that BC Thomas guy, his voice is annoying and his jokes are stupid. Could be much better than what it is.

I never thought of it like that. I didn't even factor 1450 into the equation. Well, if I have to listen to 1450 to get WKU, I will just stick to the Haven. I don't mind Norm's sidekick as much as you seem to. It is BG, it's not like Colin Cowherd is going to be here! Right now, I'll take them over the alternatives. At least they have a high school show (which I only get to hear on Saturday because of work). I guess I am easy to please, Sports Guys isn't great, but it's the best thing I got to listen to on my drive home.

1450 has a show that focuses on high school sports on both tuesday, thursday and staurday and a friday night high school football show. What don't you like about ESPN?

I don't listen to Sports Guys as much as I once did, as I stated earlier I'm not a BC fan, and when Norm gets into politics, Im not there to hear his views... im there to hear sports. WBGN only has 1 hour per day of local sports talk during the work week, the rest is the FOX Sports feed, which I can hear on my SirusXM radio. They could do more than what they have been doing, much more. I don't know why they don't cover WKU more than whats being done, it is after all the local college. Have to get Norm to answer that one.

I'm partial to 1450 because they actually cover local sports. Nothing against the other guys because I don't know them and I'm sure they all work hard. It's just easier to listen to people who actually know what theyre talking about instead of sounding like theyre reading off a piece of paper. Not to mention they cover WKU sports with the actual WKU Rivals guy on every show. I'm also partial to ESPN's programming. I've done advertising with both in stations in the past and the people that own 1450 - I will recommend them any day.

Anyone hear the Sports Guys completely lose their mind today over losing Bowling Green High athletics to ESPN 1450 AM? They took runs at Gary Fields, many Purples in general, and Doug Thompson/The Sporting Times. It was one of the most unprofessional tirades I've ever heard. They referred to Fields and other Bowling Green administrators as backstabbers and snakes in the grass. Said they "Guess they couldn't cover Bowling Green getting blown out in the finals" anymore. That they'd be doing something that would blow The Sporting Times and their "hot dog truck" out of the water. And that The Sporting Times and Sports Connection in general were a joke. There was more that I've probably lost in translation and unfortunately they don't podcast their show (a feature that the show they ran down so much on ESPN 1450 does have), but needless to say, it will be a long time before 1340 has a prayer of doing business with the Purples, both in terms of play by play and advertising.

What? You would think somebody's head would roll over something over that considering the % of businesses/advertising $ that comes from people with BGHS connections not just for BGN but for all of the Forever Comm. stations. Smooth move kiddies.

1450 is a better all-around sports station, can't say that I blame BG High for going with the station that seems to work at being the best.
