<quoted text>I am doing one step better, my husband is a big believer of being prepared you know on personal defense, I however didn't pay alot of attention to that before. I now realize there are times my husband isn't at home and I as a woman need to know how to protect our children so I am learning to shoot plus I am getting my concealed carry so I can also be prepared if trouble comes calling when I am away from home. He comes back and tries to force his way into my home he won't be feeling so confrontational next time. I now realize personal defense of our home is just as much my responsibility as my husband's.
But by calling the police & having it on record, it could prevent a really bad situation. I'd rather someone be checked up on before a crime is committed.

To the people on here who are on the defensive about the driver of the van, I keep thinking......do you all have children? The only thing that makes sense is that you must not, or you are the type who would be out there "looking for trouble"! No person in their right mind would see anything okay with this situation.
Whenever I see a car go down the street I make my kids go into the safe room and I call the police because a car going down the street can only mean one thing, and that's TROUBLE.

I live in the Drakesboro area out cemetary road and there is a dirty white van without any windows visible and Misissippi plates that is stalking the neighborhood and fountain trace around 3 AM, I saw it when I left for work last night a little after 3am and when I had the dog out at about midnight on Saturday Night, I talked with some other residents and they have said they are also stalking in the daytime and scared them that the van looks like something that you would abduct someone since there are no windows, really shook up over this.
Just thought some of you people might need to read this again....you know, to get it straight...... A WINDOWLESS VAN, OUT OF STATE LICENSE PLATE, IN NEIGHBORHOOD NUMEROUS TIMES AFTER MIDNIGHT & BEFORE 4 a.m, NO APPARENT REASON FOR BEING IN THE AREA. Now one would have to be a major idiot to NOT SEE A PROBLEM HERE!!!!

I know enough that the streets there are public and if you have a problem with members of the public driving on them, move to a gated community. It's really simple. You don't get to pick and choose who drives on "your" street because public streets are there for everyone to drive on. They don't have to have a good reason to drive on them or any reason at all for that matter. No one needs permission to drive on them, no one must obtain a permit from property owners along the streets in question.

I don't care if it's Drakesboro, Mt Ayr, Indian Hills, Whispering Hills, West Main, Shawnee, Sherwood, or anywhere else. They are public streets and tough shit if you have a problem with that.

I know on our local news which is louisville, there has been a white van attempting to kidnap women. One incident just happened in Bardstown and one in Louisville. THe one in Bardstown the van was outside in the parking lot of cracker barell and tried to force the woman inside. So I would be ware with any white van. I would call the cops on any suspicious activity at all.

Tell me then what I don't get about someone driving on a public road, minding his own business, not bothering anyone. Tell me why that presents a problem.

While I will say its possible he's the driver of the white van, I think its more likely he's just an idiot who doesn't have a clue where Drakesboro even is; otherwise he would know why someone driving back there has a specific purpose to do so.

Just another whiner with a sense of 'entitlement' would be my guess.

Law Dog is just a idiot just trying to get a rise out of people. If you saw the van at 2pm riding around, no big deal. But at 3am ? Ina rural, non thru way road ? Nope, not buying ti. Contact the authoerities and let THEM check the suspicious vehicle out. YOU do not have any reason or the right to approach the van, UNLESS they are on your property. By the way, has the van been spotted again ? It is simple, right the plate down, type , make, model of van, call the police. When they run a check on the plates it will tell them if the owner has a criminal history, or if the van has been reported stolen. MOST MORMAL people are not out tiding around at 3am in beighboorhoods they do not live in, but it may be people looking for junk to make some cash.

you brought up good points in yout post. I was cracking up becasue when I read it I started hearing the voice of mushmouth from Fat Albert. I could tell you were typing on a phone or something, oh well. I agree with you 100%- with people breaking into houses in broad daylight in small communities to steal pills, etc., you cannot be to careful.
