Because WBKO and other sub par news outlets in this area refuse to do any investigative reporting. They're probably afraid to ruffle any feathers in this town.
Better call Channel 5 out of Nashville. See if they will be interested into looking into this ordeal.
This is what Channel 5 will do. They will inform you that gas prices vary all over Nashville and it should be no surprise that they are higher in some places than in others.

Maybe it's because your daddy has sucked all the competition dry and they left!!!

In the last 40 days we have had 3 spikes in gas prices,.27,.21 and .27 cents, i checked on the same days in madison,tn, worchester MA and orlando,FL.....these areas had hat most one increase of .03,.07 and .4.

i believe minut mart and holchens are in it together and have been keeping out gas prices higher than they should be.

if 85,000(bowling green) people represnt 1/4 of a gallon of gas a day with a .20 gouge that adds up toalmost 1.6 million a year for houlchens/minut mart.

doesnt matter i took areas that are close to the national average and are one local and the other 2 are of a different regions.
yesturday BG had a .12 spike and the other 3 areas had no increase at all.
next step is to see who increases there prices first and the businesses that dont follow along!

If you're admittedly ignoring any place that went up higher than we did...

I can hand pick 3 places that increased more than BG just like you hand picked 3 places that didn't.

Your just defending the indefensible HaHa.
Seriously, some people at Houchins and a few other places in this town should go to jail for collusion.
No legitimate reason for being so much higher than surrounding areas.
Someone smarter than me should do an historical comparison to other cities, day of week, holidays, events, etc. gas increases/decreases.
Would love to see these Aholes busted for anti-trust violations.
Everyone knows it is wrong, bordering on/or is illegal. The powers that would investigate/prosecute are too close to accomplish this.
Small town, small minds, big corruption.

Bg has a .15 tax on fuel. That has been on the fuel price for several years. The city is making money off it to.

Then the county does too?
Not likely. Sorry. BG does not set a higher gas tax.

I bought gas in Franklin Wednesday for 3.15. It's 3.37 in BG. Everyone quit complaining and drive your ass to franklin then BG would quit gouging us.

Sounds good, but not economical. I would be spending over $6 to just go down and back. Cheaper to pay these extortionist prices and complain. Hope the F'ers get busted someday.

What we CAN do is this.....REFUSE TO BUY ANYTHING ELSE FROM THESE CROOKS!!!!! Buy gas and that's it, and tell them when (and if) you enter the store that you will not buy anything until they 'price match' the other retailers that are outside of the 'Houchens/Minit mart' market!!!

I'd rather pay a little to travel OUTSIDE of BG for gas. It may not necessarily be economical, but its my own personal protest against BG and their ridiculous gas prices. I know the effort of one won't make a difference, but I know I'm not supporting them and the little more that I may pay on the trip is negligible.
