Hello Good Citizens of Wisconsin!

I am looking to move to Wittenberg or a small town close to the village this Fall. I will be working in Wittenberg, and would appreciate your opinions on what it's like to raise a young family there.

Thank you in advance for any information!

Best Regards,

Antonio

take it from us, we grew up here and this is a very good place to live. Beth lives in Wittenberg and Brittany lives in nearby Birnamwood. it is a great small town atmosphere but we are not far from a larger city with many great recreational and shopping stores. there are many great opportunities to be had living here. its a great place to call home!

Hi Tony! This is Beth and Brit, we have lived in the area our entire lives. The community is small but the area is abundant in recreational opportunitites for people who like the outdoors. Nearby is the convinience of a larger city with great shopping

We run the local grocery store in Wittenberg. Hanke's Supervalu. Our Fresh Meats and Produce departments are indeed Fresh. Our Sales compete with those "larger" stores. Something may happen in the near future....stay tuned....

Hi. I grew up there and would move back if I could. Its a small town with big town amenities.
As a child your safe to walk the streets, woods and fields nearby chasing wild animals like spotted salamanders, squirrels, and turtles.
the schools are top notch competing with the best and there swimming pool and athletic rooms, open to the public are like the Gold's Gym or Bally's Gym.
My friends and I had the choice of going to the best colleges.
Out your back door you have trout fishing, hunting, hiking, snowmobiling and much more.
Twenty to 30 minute drive takes you to a major university, international kayaking, theater, and shopping. Enjoy

Tony, I am from Wisconsin and I have lived all over this state, but Wittenberg. Stay away. RUN as fast as you can. Wausau is better. Rural areas in Central Wisconsin still treat other ethnicities with lower standards. I am sorry but that is the sick truth. I worked in an organic garden with a migrant worker from Mexico. Great gardner himself, still treated with disrespect from majority of surrounding citizens. Scared little ignorant people. I am hence moving to Stevens Point my self. Good luck. I just had to stop you, you won't be able to have any conversation with your neighbors because they will be hidden some where out of sight.

I shop our local grocery store every week.
Their meat case is tops. Their sales are explosive every week. No need to drive miles
away to save.

Wittenberg used to be a great little town to live in. Outside of a few wealthy people reconstructing a couple of downtown buildings and painting on some, the downtown area has become very slumlike. Garbage dumpsters on sidewalks, people dumping their charcoal on sidewalks along with lighter fluid cans, grass at least 15 inches high, business owners not paying water bills nor taxes, people living in condemned dwellings with no water or bathroom facilities, thus relieving themselves in their back yard next to an elementary school. Think twice before coming to this town. I have lived here many years. What a total disgrace!!!!!!! This has all taken place within the last 21/2 months

Daily Horoscope for December 16

Virgo

Today's New Moon in your fourth house of new beginnings and family matters signals that a new chapter is about to begin in your home or family life. There might soon be a new member of the family; you could be about to move house, or a home improvement plan might get the green light. Prepare for a change to the emotional atmosphere, perhaps with increased tolerance and understanding between you and a certain someone.
