Did you not think about that before you had children? What did you think was going to happen?

Maybe you could ask around about part time college students helping you with your kids, if your job could work around their hours. They prob wouldn't charge as much as a normal daycare and could prob come to your house.... Or... There's always retired people who live on fixed incomes that might need a little extra income... Maybe go to the senior center and hang a sign? Lots of seniors go there everyday just for something to do.

Been there, done that. I worked 3 part time jobs, while my child was in school. You do what you have to do. I had no family or anyone else to help me out. So put on your big girl panties and do what you have to do. And if you haven't already got an attorney and filed temporary orders on your husband for support DO IT!

There should be a government funding for this. Instead of going on welfare the government should pay at least half of daycare for a mom who wants to work. If you have 2 or more in daycare there is no way you can work and pay daycare. I wish you the best of luck.

She was not being a cold hearted bitch! She was telling it like it is. This person is not the first, or the last whose husband will leave her. This is the real world deal with it. Why should MY TAX dollars pay for her daycare? When my husband left me I worked multiple jobs to make ends meet. You do what you have to do. PERIOD. That is what responsible adults and parents do. And her husband should be paying child support, if he isn't she should take his butt to court!
So sorry

Actually there is government assistance for daycare please look into the details. Spend our tax dollars I do not care because they are not being used properly anyways. Who are we to judge this lady she was just asking a question.

Taking someone to court takes money. Her husband left her,he probably has not filed for a divorce, and she has no family or anyone to help her. This is what government assistance is for.

no I'm not, I'm a divorced woman who raised her kids, worked 3 jobs and paid my own way through life. Karma won't bother me but then again, if it come back on me for what I've done then it will be all good. My kids r grown now and have productive lives as do I.

Sounds like your kids grew up alone!!!!!!!!!! Some one had to lead them in the the right direction if they are all so productive, you prob. had parents that helped you out. Don't get on here making it sound like you are all good because your kids are grown, this is different times now whe you have to do things alot different than when you were raising your's. So don't judge the person you don't know her circumstances.

Her kids are below school age ,20 yrs ago things were different, and you couldnt have worked 3 jobs while they were in school unless they were all part time.School kids only go 7.5 hrs a day. What did you do during the summer ,if you didn't have any help then they must have stayed by there self's.Also child care was not as expensive as it is now.And if they are in there 20's then you only needed after noon sitter. Like I said your situation is different than hers. So you are not God almighty, and no cookie for you.

no smart ass, I had 1 full time job 4 on 2 off 7am -3pm. 2 part time jobs to cover my days off cleaning houses 8-3. Summertime they had Methodist Daycare and no, never said I was God just said it can be done. My husband was in the Navy and never home.

Your husband being in the Navy and being gone all the time is NOT the same as being a single mom with no other income. Your input is null and void on this subject. So please take your self-important views elsewhere. Thank you.

My personal circumstances are none of anyone's business on here. Right now I pay for daycare and work as long as they are in daycare but I can't work once daycare is closed, that's my issue. I'm going to loose my house because I have to pay $200 a week in childcare! That's difficult when I only make about $320 a week that leaves not even $500/month to pay my bills. I have a good job make $11/hour which is good in this town with no degree so I just don't know what to do.
