What can a person due to address the cost of electricity. Why is Bowie a "municipality" and charges much more than T.X.U. or Wise Electric. I can live outside of the city and pay 11.2 cents a k.w. or less and Bowie charges over 16 cents a k.w. Just would like an answer to why it is so high.

Because they can. Why do you think Walmart moved out of town and now uses Wise Electric?
THEY say it replaces city tax - LMAO Cut your electric bill in half. Then multiply by 12 months. I could pay alot of TAX with that. BTW, we still have city tax. We pay the same total tax or more than other cities our size or in this area. PLUS the double electric!

I unplug everything I'm not using, tv included. My icebox is the only exception and my bill is still $280. This is in a small house with 2 adults who are gone most of the day. It pays to be tight when ur dealing with The City of Bowie.

I just wonder if there's any way to get out or renegotiate the stupid contract. Honestly, there's only so much blood that you can get out of somebody and this place is not exactly affluent...
