Well, Earp at least makes the decision of who to vote for an easy one.

Looks like Jack McGaughey for District Judge for me.

You people must really get off on the lies that you are posting about Brandon or possibly just ignorant of the facts. Help me out which one are you ... a Liar or just plain ignorant

Brandon is the best man for the position. I know them both and I will promise you that he would be the fairest, by the book, impartial candidate that we have.

Isn't it amazing how limited Earp's supporters are? Both with their vocabulary and their grasp of the facts. But guess that says alot.

I could care less what your dumbass is waiting for. I am sure the haters on this post got their butts beat in court by Brandon. perhaps the haters should provide specific evidence to back up your lies.

What makes you think anyone "got their butts beat in court by Brandon"? We'd love to see his record - but he's not going there apparently. From what his past clients (and I haven't heard about ANY criminal cases) say, he was hardly "beating butts", and frankly, it sounded more like he couldn't locate his posterior with his own two hands. Maybe you should read the posts.

Jack outted him - for all his big talk, only 2 jury trials in his entire career. One we know he lost for sure. He's never known anything but this system in Montague and he's never spoken up before in 12 years - he waits until Towery retires. Too weak to risk getting on the judge's bad side? This talk is just that talk - that gets him a 100k job.

You're a fool and a flamer, so guess we're done here.

Muffy that is his job to keep cases from going to court. Of course if you knew anything about the system you would know that Towery agrees to some awesome plee bargains, if you are a criminal. I am not taking the chance on having the same pathetic results like in the past, because don't forget the DA makes and agrees to these plea bargains. The same can be said for Jack why didn't he run for the position before now too weak to get on the judges bad side. Don't you think that Brandon makes more than the position offers now? I am sure he is not going for the money. If jack gets it we will have the same results with a different person. I am ready to see the criminals get punished and not slapped on the hand.

Muddy ... Brandon has had many trials in this county. He would have more if that spineless DA would stop with the plea margins. The DA is the problem here

2 (TWO) is what's being reported and it's easy enough to verify that. I don't think Jack put that in a ad without knowing - and if Earp hadn't been taking cheap shots, he probably wouldn't have done that.

I wonder what HE didn't tell us that we ought to know.

Plus, plea bargains happen in every court - if there was an abundance of them, I'd have to put that on Towery, more so than the DA - the judge would have refused them if he didn't like them and he was the honcho.

I wish someone would aquaint us with the number$$- how much money are we talking to try and put all the druggies/crooks around here in jail?

I think both candidates will have to see what works and at least Jack already knows about the budget and expenses. Has anyone asked Earp what it will do to the budget? the jail? taxes?

I'd like to see them locked up as much as the next guy, but I sure don't see Earp doing it anyhow. I've dealt with him directly in the past. He's just a big talker.

Mike the guilty will go to the state pen once they are convicted. The county jail is just a holding until they are sent off. The reason why some of the trusties have been there so long is because the jail asked the state for them to either stay or to send them back from the pen because they were a good trusty in the past. So, realistically we will not see to much of an increase if Brandon does have a firm hand, which I believe that he will.

There's still court costs though and what about offenses that don't warrant a trip to the Penitentiary? This would back the docket up until it would take years to get to court with civil matters.

It's kind of hard to believe that the courts just "went easy" on these people all these years because of their good nature and without any motive or reason. It's just doesn't add up. But here was definitely something wrong in Montague and I see every officer of the court as a player in that game.

I'll be voting for experience and intelligence - I think Jack will represent the community better. He made pretty short work of Earp with his ad and I hope we get to hear alot more from him before the election.

Says here the state prison system is having financial problems already and is having to figure out ways to make cutbacks. Someone always has to pick up the tab and it's ridiculous to suggest that we're going to get something for nothing.
