Anyone else see the poor excuse to have a press conference. Cunningham using his deputies disposition to get a little factime with the camera. What an idiot. He couldnt answer any of the questions asked, including his deputy's age, or where the chase ended. If there is a big problem he is no where to be found, but if there are cameras you can bet your ass he will be in the shot. I should have voted for Blackburn.

Well then y don't u run for sheriff. Dumbass. Last I knew of it was his job to give a press conference on behalf of the sheriffs department. And thaw deputy that got shot is a close family friend of his. That's how the sheriff dept. is ran. New sheriff means new deputys. Why don't u take some the energy u r using to hate on people and put it to something positive. Would u like fries with that? Lmao

Everytime i see our Sherrif Cunningham on TV i am embarrased and get mad as hell at Blackburn. All Blackburn had to was put his name in the election and sit and wait, oh yea, and keep his mouth shut. Unfortunately he lacked the ability to do that. He hada run around talking and losing votes. You know, lets put a boot in the neck of anybody that has EVER had anything to do with anything illegal and how he was going to push us all around once elected, stuff like that. Before we knew it that election looked like a dumbass contest and nobody knew which jackass to vote for. And Cunningham, I just got a thing in the mail wanting me to send $25 to the sherrifs fund or some crap like that to prevent crime. Im thinking that if the taxes I just paid wasnt enough why dont they just raise my taxes some more? Why do I need to send more money to the Sherrif for him to do his job than what he already gets from my tax money?

The letter was asking you to be a member of the Sheriffs Association of Texas!! It had nothing to do with Montague County!! Your $25.00 if you choose to join goes for training made available for all Sheriffs departments in the State of Texas!! Maybe you should read the whole letter before you start bashing the Sheriff!!

A good family friend? He couldn't answer the question to how old that close family friend is. Press conferences are what comes with the job, shouldn't be all he does to try and get on camera. He held the press conference the minute he got back from Austin. He should have gathered himself and made sure he could answer any question he was asked. Oh and it is correctly spelled... You*, why*, that*, and are*. Dumb ass. Now give me my fries bitch!

Well i read the bottom of the sherrifs letter and it was signed by cunningham, and it was asking for money for training? I would assume that if they have a license to carry a gun they have some training. How much more training do they need? And why should our sherrif have to ask citizens of Montague county to pay for training throughout the state of Texas.
And Fedup i did not get offended when Blackburn was babbeling about kicking the shit out of everyone in Montague county that smoked dope excluding Willie Nelson. I was just flat out embarrased for him and his family and forced to concede that the braying jackass cunningham was prolly the lessor of, or should i say slightly more intelligent of the two.

Speaking of Blackburn, why wasn't the high school put on lock down when the shooting of deputy Boyd occurred?

Ok I'll play along and put in my two cents. Obviously none of you have any clue about law enforcement. Whether you are for or against Paul or Bob or whether you think Guy is doing a good job or not, non of you have a clue about what it takes to be a cop, deputy or department administrator knowing you may lose a coworker or employee at any time. As far as Paul's press conference goes yes it seems he could have been more prepared but sometimes the media can rush you for information and I know the SO was probably getting flooded with calls about the incident. Secondly as faras training those letters are sent out by a separate organization that provides training for law enforcement. Despite what you think officers go thru continuious training to enhance their skills and keep up with ever changing laws. The sheriff is asked to endorse this. This provides free training to the department saving tax money. If you don't like it don't donate. Lastly, if you have a problem with law enforcement and want to change it either run for a political office or spend the money and time and go thru an academy and join in and change things. After you do you will find out there are a lot of opinionated idiots in the world.

Yes there is a danger involved in law enforcement. But there are great dangers in many other areas of work as well. For you to imply that the rest of us taxpayers out here that pay these peoples salaries are ignorant and have no clue what its like to risk life and limb for employment shows your lack of consideration or just plain ignorance. I can think of a lot of truck drivers and oilfield workers that we have lost in the line of duty and many other occupations as well. I do not mean this in disrespect to the law officers that have lost their lives protecting us or the ones that put their life on the line everyday. I am just saying the rest of us arent as clueless as you stated.

You say those letters sent out to the taxpayers of Montague County were not from the sheriff but they did have his name on them at the bottom. But in fact they were sent from another organization that profits from this training? And that the sheriff was "ASKED" to endorse this? Was he asked to endorse this by the taxpayers he works for or by the organization that profits from this? You say it provides "FREE" training to the department saving tax money? It doesnt sound free if he is asking us to send him money and how can it save tax dollars if the taxpayers are the ones he is asking for the funds. I will refrain from donating thank you.

I do not have to go to a law enforcement academy or run for political office to find out that there are opinionated idiots in this world but thanks for the invitation.

One last thing, you win the contest.

A lot of jobs are more dangerous - the garbage man takes more risk, pilot, a lineman (electric co), truck driver, oilfield worker, farmer, roofer...all more dangerous and most don't pay as well.

I love how being for Cunningham or against Blackburn makes you likely to be a criminal. Maybe law abiding citizens actually approve of one over the other. That's the number one reason Blackburn didn't get my vote. It's this "if you're not for me, your against me" and "only criminals won't vote for me" mentality that caused me to vote for Cunningham. Y'all are elitist and self-righteous.
