Really just spend it all on sht we dont need. 3 million on a comminity center, did we really need it? 3 million on a new building for city offices? Really?! What hell is wrong with the one you got? Nothing a little remodeling and fresh coat of paint wont fix. Besides the old Bowie bank building is vacant. What about the streets? I'm going to have to go buy a off road vehicle just so i can go to store! The sewage system- I was told by a person on the sewage/drainage/water dept. that 75% of the lines had to be replaced. I can tell cause we now wear hazmat suits at the dinner table. Oh and dont forget the electrical system, I wonder why the electric bill is high? Because half the transformers and transmission lines need to be upgraded or replaced. Screw it, lets put another 3 mill on something stupid, like on a... I GOT IT! A huge statue of a Jackrabbit! Lets put where that shtty city christmas tree is since ya don't trim and decorate the damn thing anyway.

Excuse me but the "Old Bowie Bank Building" is not empty! The Bowie News owns it...wake up!! The city has not spent $3 mil YET! They used that number as a starting point and obviously YOU have not been in those buildings. The Municipal court building is falling in, there is not enough space in the main city hall. They have folks officed in a closet and have to lay blueprints on the hallway floor when speaking to builders. How unprofessional of the city! As for sewer lines and streets? Blame that on lack of preventative maintenance and training the last 30 years! Now the current admininstration is facing all the pitfalls. Perhaps you should take a trip to city hall and see the budget for electricity. Go ahead check it out, it is public knowledge. While you are in there, be sure and ask about transformers and transmissions lines and what they cost and why we use them. And one more thing, you have no idea what you are talking about. That "shitty" christmas tree is not a real christmas tree! If you trim it..it dies. Give me a freakin' break dude or dudette and know what you are talking about before you spout your brain farts on here.

I think city does need new facilities. Heard they were looking for property out on 287
Think Bowie would start moving out that way if the city was out there

well as a Bowie resident who really does like this small town....and fully understanding overhead...they are going to HAVE to do something about overcharging(doubling) the rate on electricity or they will lose enough residents and real businesses...how many antique/thrift stores do you really need? And "Worlds biggest Bowie Knife" seriously? It should dawn on the City that someone rents a house they are still Bowie residents. Not all are oil field transients nor druggies...but it makes it extremely hard to consider buying in Bowie when the City acts like you just don't matter....

Yes, Need Change - like the city is not scattered enough like it is - let's just go build somewhere else? NOT. And Aman - Amen.(but they don't care if you are a homeowner or not and most of us "don't matter")

Here's a thought. Bowie has nursing home building that are vacant. Why can't the city buy them. Fix them up and turn them into offices? The buildings are large and have space. Insted of just letting them sit there and turn to trash or another empty building use what the city has and try to improve something.

The city already has old dilapidated buildings, why would they want more?

If they moved into the nursing home building and since it smells so bad we could put up a big sign outside the office that reminds everyone "Urine Bowie"

All jokes aside the empty building idea is valid.....the point with the city is also that inflexible payment plan city offers....seems to me if you have a good history of paying, albeit late sometimes due to the falling of paydays....the 3 time a year would be not such an issue as the city is making a pretty good percentage on the late fees....I know there are a lot of wealthy families in Bowie...however it is the working class joe footing most of the bills

Here's an idea!! Why not come the the city coucil meetings??
You could hear things fist hand instead listening to gossip and one person's opinion who probably wasn't even there!
Don't blame everything on the current city government - it was already messed up. Why didn't streets, water, sewer get fixed before they hired a new city mgr. Now it's all his fault so fix it.
Alot of people in Bowie don't want Bowie to change. They just like to gripe, b&^@#, and gossip.
So if it changed for the good, what would they do, oh what would they do.
Remember the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6PM at the community room -- be there or shut up.

Well it's is obvious they do not care what the citizens have to say. That is obvious by how they chunked the petition to the side and did not even discuss.

It wasn't "chunked". Check with the city. They can explain why it wasn't accepted.

Do you think that the neighbors around that location would really like the city complex in their neighborhood?

Don't make excuses for the worthless idiots. These council members are living and feeding this city a constant lie and Sticky Ricky is going to bankrupt this town. So go blow smoke up someone else's a**!!
