The letter was a page long, but I was only 15 and I tripped out so I never could remember the rest and I never saw the note again. They moved us out of home for couple of months too and the place was remodeled and almost didn't even look the same any more.
I know our lives were never the same again. But then life always did suck, so that didn't change. Wow, I"m actually writing this and I'm not crying. That's freakin' weird and unusual.
Whatever... carry one Dogma.
Just to ease your mind I have no intention on killing myself. I just find the notion that a person so broken they feel the only way out is death would find themselves standing before a cold and vengeful God casting them into hell? If God is a God of love and mercy is that love and mercy only for the living?
I guess what is at question here does God judge the hearts of people more than the deeds?

Dogma, Some people believe that all who commit suicide go immediately to Hell. And we have several family members and friends who have committed suicide. However, the Bible never says if this is the case. The Bible is silent on this issue. Of coure one of the ten commandments is, "?thou shalt not kill" and I would think it means ourselves included, but it does not specify one way or the other. Several great men of the bible committed suicide, yet God doesn't say much about that either. The Bible does not seem to condemn suicide. There are, I think, six accounts of suicide in the Bible, the most notorious being those of King Saul (1 Samuel 31:2-5) and Judas (Matthew 27:3-5). Others are Abimelech (Judges 9:50-54), Samson (Judges 16:23-31), Ahithophel (2 Samuel 17:23), and Zimri (1 Kings 16:15-20). As far as I can tell, none of the six is explicitly condemned for taking his life.

God probably did not address it in black and white for a good reason. If we knew that we would still go to heaven if we killed ourselves, there would probably be a lot more suicides taking place than there already are. However, if we knew that all who killed themselves were automatically banished to Hell, no matter what their situation, it may be too much for the grief-stricken family and friends to bear. Murder and suicide are not unpardonable sins. The only unforgivable sins are rejecting Christ (Mark 16:16) and blaspheming the Holy Spirit.

This is exactly why I was told growing up you could not get into Heaven if you commit suicide be cause you not only have to ask for forgiveness but be truly sorrowful for your action. You cannot ask forgiveness after you are dead and cannot be truly sorry before you kill yourself because if you were you wouldn't do it...this is just what I was taught growing up but I agree there is no black and white answer here. I really hope you can because those people are the ones who need God most!

I think maybe God judges the heart of the person. If a person is insane truly disabled I think God would judge them as an innocent if a person does it for selfish reasons God would judge different and a person so lost they feel this is the only way out or perhaps knows nothing of God he would judge another way.
I was also taught that if you commit suicide you are going to hell no matter what. However as I got older and feel closer to God and trying to understand what I call true unconditional love Gods love I begin to see how 2 people can commit the same sin and God can judge them different. Perhaps I'm dead wrong I just don't believe in a cookie cutter experience of God.

As someone who is a born again christian and has struggled with severe depression and anxiety, yes in my teens I thought suicide was my last option. Your mind and heart are in such a dark place there is no way out or,so I thought. Jesus reached down and woke me up with the early birth of my nephew that I later realized was my saving grace. With that being said I am now 15yrs older and have a family of my own and could never conceive of it again. Idk what happens to those who perish by their own hands but I do know my God is a loving father. And I do believe we all have a last second chance to turn to him even in death. I just pray for those who have passed in this way and thank God for His son who saved me from myself!
