AT&T DSL Service question

I have AT&T DSL service now and I'm having some terrible download speeds. Run some tests today and the best I could get was 0.73 Mbps which is real slow. The plan I currently have is for 6 Mbps. I did call tech support with my problem and they agreed that there is a problem with the download speed. Tests run by AT&T tech support showed no problem with there lines, my modem or computer. The guy I spoke with did say that U-verse is now available Bowie. He also stated that when U-verse is available in a area that the customers with high speed internet will start to loose some of there bandwidth as in there service will be downgraded. This is to keep customers with U-verse happy with there service.
I'm not sure if this part of my problem or not.
So my question is this is there anybody else having problems with there AT&T DSL service being slow?

We have U-Verse and wish we would have stuck with our dsl, it's terribly slow

We have uverse and it sucks. It wont even run our Xbox with out us having to reboot our modem 3-4 times during a game.

Try replacing the spliter that comes out of the phone jack and plugs into your modem. I had dsl for years and about three times I had simular problems that you are decribing. When I replace the spliter if fixed it.
I did have to get the spliters from the phone company, because the ones that you buy in the stores would not work... Hope this helps.
