You should also note I wasn't talking just about people employed by the SO.
You make it sound as if there is a whole group of offenders running the place, that is not the case. The Rangers and FBI did an thorogh investigation and rid the place of the problems the staff that survived is clean so they should be left alone. And just who else were u talking about? The judge is gone, the inmates maybe?

Sorry, folks, but as I've said before, I don't name names.

Take your pick, tell me none of them were aware of what was happening in the jail. Heck, has no one watched one in particular walk across the street for his daily nooner?

Don't forget there are also Constables, with pretty much every power that the Sheriff has, plus a few.
Per Texas law, Constables have to be licensed peace officers, or obtain their license within 270 days of taking office... in other words, they're duty-bound to get off their keesters and do the job they were elected for.
That makes at least 10 county LEO's. Not too shabby, but it could be better.
There does need to be at least 2 deputies on duty at a time, there's just no way one guy can cover all that land area (especially while hanging out at Allsup's all night).
More arrests are made by the cops at allsups than when they are patroling!! The constables are cops but do not patrol so its not SHABBY!! We need more cops in our county!!!!

No doubt Montague County has been snake bit with past problems with the SO but we can't stick our heads in the sand and not try to recover. I think we have some good officers employed now and we can't hold them accountable for others bad deeds! We have to move on at some point! As far as hiring more deputies where is the money going to come from? I think everyone would agree that it isn't the best situation but how are you/we going to fix the problem with the budget the way it is is? The county is just like we are, we would like to be wealthy and money not being an object but life just doesn't work like that in reality.

You can get more money by the Commissioners not buying another road grader, or themselves a new pickup ebvery year, or getting the Sheriff a new pickup, and not pay the felon janitor more than the deputies, and pay the taxes it takes to actually run a basic government. hows that for ideas?

Everybody needs a break and Allsups is as good of a place as any. And why not? As long as some of y'all are asleep or busy writing hateful and useless posts, the police don't have to be looking too hard. Jeez! let 'em recharge their batteries before they go back out to fight crime for another 6 hours!

Unfortunately, Mr. Henry was probably putting his batteries in somebody elses flashlight, if you know what I mean...And hey, he's just another reason that MCSO needs more deputies. We need more anyway, but the bad ones have been culled for good I think. That's the gist of this post. Mr. Henry's post is "Who is Deputy Hollywood".

<quoted text> Shouldn't get rid of law enforcement altogether, but there should have been a purge... if not after the election, then definitely after the jail fiasco.
You think they have morals? Like they didn't know about the jail? They didn't know about the previous sheriff? They didn't know about the child molesting freak that tries to solicit sexual favors from 16 year old girls?
Thanks, but that's about all I care to know about them.
You are a f****** idoit! You are one of those guys that know everything. The FBI and Texas Rangers conducted an investigation along with the DA Office. Do you really think they would have left any criminals working at the Sheriff's Office. What a dumba**. I cant believe I wasted my time with you.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Pisces

If you-know-who has been getting on your nerves recently, matters will soon come to a head and force you to take drastic action. As Mars turns tail in your sixth house, you might finally lose your rag with someone at work who's been testing your patience to the limit. Stand your ground if you feel you're being messed about in some way. Clear the air if needs be, but don't create a really nasty atmosphere by throwing an eye-popping tantrum. Take care of any infections.
