mr. jim,
why does it seem that you have such a negative attitude toward people. i do pray that whatever has happened in your life that you will forgive and become a happy person with kind things to say about people.
Spirit of God,

I don't think that my attitude is all negative! Some people do stupid things, break the law, don't want to follow the rules of society and this is negative on their part not mine. I'm very happy thank you! Are you an unhappy person?

dress code is ridiculoous and i think that neone who thinks that it is a good idea needs a reality check. when i was a little girl we never had such specific dress codes and we all turned out fine!

I think that dress codes are STUPID and that they should be abolished! There should be certain limits but as for going so overboard as to not letting my child wear shorts to school when it is like 110 degrees outside! I THINK NOT!

I get so sick of stupid dress code rules that are not for the kids benefit, they are for the old-school teachers that have not evolved and think EVERYTHING is disruptive!!--to them maybe, but we are here for the kids!
And you are right...everyone is different, so why not teach tolerance!? ok, I'll get off the soap box!

I agree that the dress codes these days are a bit over the top. When I was in school (a ways back mind you) we wore black t-shirts and had longer hair, but nobody cared that much. Maybe the lack of attention given to the situation bred less of a response from the students. I think the more negative attention you give to today's students, the more apt they are to 'take the ball and run with it'. Boys with makeup and fingernail polish on will ALWAYS be a distraction. It's not what society believes is the norm. So, until you are an adult, and out of school, you have to abide by the rules and peacefully coexist until you're able to have that much desired voice.

Uniforms that's it just uniforms I really wish they would. The Childs "right to self expression" is crap school is for learning not fashion. This is why every other industrial nation on the planet is out doing the US because our kids dress and act like the world should be handed over to them and its mom and dads job to do it. Their is a word that every child should hear the same as most of us did that word is....NO!!!

Dress code is not enforced as it is. Kids wear whatever they want, boys don't have to shave or cut their hair and girls are not any better. High School is a joke.
