I say we open up a store call "where the gossip grows" - that way when you have something to say, you can say it to someone's face!! curious, i elect you for president, ted, i elect you to keep the minutes-that way you can listen to curious talk all day long because she doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut!!! I'll just run the video camera, so then everyone in bowie knows who you are and what kinda of trash you talk-

I think a LOT of people would like that. Citizens of Bowie paying all of their hard earned tax money to another town is just down right ridiculous. Do you think not offering alcohol in Bowie keeps the drinking down? Obviously - NOT!! The people who are voting to keep alcohol out of Bowie are the ones you see sneaking to Nocona to stock up their bars at their homes in Bowie, Texas. If people want to drink, they will...nothing's gonna stop them. Get a clue Bowie, Get a Clue!

Let's get a beer/alcohol store. Party at my house - Curious - you ARE NOT invited!!!

Check what the taxes on alcohol in Nocona and Decatur are. I think it will suprise you. Bowie is full of people that will go to the River and drink beer while eating fish and then preach of the evils of drinking when back in Bowie. I have seen to many do this, and go to Nocona and buy some to take home thinking that nobody is seeing them. It realy is funny to see somebody come out of a liquor store with the evil drink hidden in a sack and not knowing who is seeing them.... Make Bowie wet and you will see your taxes go down, and maybe you city bill, and bring in business into town. Dont think it will happen just look at Decatur and Bridgeport.....

A pool hall or bowling alley would be nice. For kids ages 9-14 a "Friday Nite Live" would be great. Denton has one that is very successful. Kids can dance and listen to a live DJ, shoot baskets, snack and socialize in a safe and secure place so parents can go out for an evening too. It only costs about $7.00/per kid.

There are definitely pros and cons to voting Bowie wet and alcohol sales. Starting a petition drive and jumping through the hoops that are required to put the vote before the city council will be a very lengthy and tedious process. It will garner it's share of criticism from both sides. You have to remember that we have about 30 churches, of all denominations, that will publicly protest the move. Larger cities, some in the metroplex area, have been denied alcohol sales recently and probably due to the lobbying of organized religion. We used to worry about Nocona not liking the fact that we were seeking alcohol sales, but now Saint Jo is jumping on the bandwagon. We should watch how that turns out. As for Bowie, I think that the increase in revenue would justify the yes vote.

Yea Nocona is rollin in tax money from alcohol sales. Just look at these great city streets that we have here!!! Decatur's success not from alcohol sales, probly has something to do with the oil production!!

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Taurus

Are you in listening mode today? Let's hope so because someone wants to bend your ear and they're hoping that you can spare the time and energy for them. Although your first instincts may tell you to give them plenty of advice, try to stop yourself volunteering it unless it's asked for. Even then, you may get the sense that you're really being asked to listen, not talk.
