why is the Nocona Girls Softall Coach taking the team to a bar in Bowie. I saw them leaving the bar this afternoon. I guess the coaches needed a stiff drink for the drive home after the game. taking student athletes to a bar on a school funded trip is just wrong!!! Parents do you agree?

Do you always have to
Comment on this site?I'm sure he is talking about the Rack. Last time I checked Bowie had a
Sports bar. I wouldn't want my daughter in there either.

that is not a sports bar. More like a sleeze bar. If a coach took my daughter and the team to this bar I would have their asses in front of the NISD explaining why

I drove by there around 430ish and saw the Krum bus parked across the street. I figured they were at Sweet Boys.

The place has a menu and serves food and regular drinks too. They are also non smoking during the day. How is it any different than going to Chilli's, Applebee's, Buffalo Wild Wings (sports bar) or even Dos Chiles which serve food and alcohol?

Guess Parkway Grill in WF would also be on your unacceptable list.

that is where you peopole are wrong. this is not a family restaurant. If you believe this you are only kdding yourself. this is a BAR and a softball coach should not take young girls to this type of environment. over 80% of their revenue comes from the sale of alcohol. sounds like some people just don't get it.

I would be mad if the school took the liberty of taking my child to a bar, bar and grill, or any other shindig hootin Anny or ho down. I'm a bit of a prude as it where id also be mad if they took my kid to hooters.

That softball coach must be a young person without much in the way of good, common sense, assuming this story is actually true. Further, if this story is true, the bus driver must also be lacking good judgment.
One thing is for certain, that school board will surely deal with this problem in an appropriate manner. I would think that the individual and the driver should be removed from their duties, not fired but re-assigned to some position that does not allow them to be in charge of minors outside of the school campus.

I don't know anyone at the bar & grill or on the team, so no agenda of protection here. I would have absolutely no issue with a coach and team eating at a sports bar for lunch, even if I had a child on the team. Don't be such a busy body gossiper, oilboy. I would be willing to bet they just wanted to get some lunch.

Yes, they should burn the coach at the stake, or perhaps a lynching would be appropriate.
You cannot take kids to Chili's, Applebee's, Chammp's, Dave & Buster's, Buffalo Wild Wings, Southwest Parkway Grill, or any other establishment that serves food, shows sports and serves beer or alcohol without corrupting the kids. They are gonna end up with a bunch of lushes over there in Nocona. Somebody call a priest and schedule the exorcisms!

Well the Nocona girls softball coach is Miranda Winn...she is a big joke coaching girls softball...coaching anything for that matter. Glad she is in Nocona and not Bowie.

The Rack is no different than a Chilis, etc.

Lord help them had they gone to somewhere like Cow Camp in Decatur where they allow smoking in their establishment. At least the rack is non smoking until 9-10pm. I would rather my kid see alcohol being served to adults than inhale cigarette smoke.

I see the point about about Applebee's etc. However I have been to The Rack I have seen people being escorted out for being too drunk. I'm in no way saying it is a bad place just a bad place for school kids. I understand that things maybe different depending on when you go but a pig pen is still a pig pen even when the pigs aren't there.

Just admit it, it is inappropriate to take school kids there. The coach could have made a better choice.
